My wife's family does that, and my wife decided that one Thanksgiving meal per year was enough, hence why we adopted my family's Polish ham/kielbasa thing. I have been getting prime rib for Xmas ever since we Started to do Xmas at home. Its a LOT more expensive than Turkey but its much easier to prepare and cook.
