Mason: If Gurley has any setbacks at all, Mason showed he can shoulder the load.

Was also looking at Mason. I liked what I saw last season. I think he will be in the mix all season.

I don't expect Gurley to start seeing the majority of carries over Mason until week 6 at the earliest.

damn, I too was hoping he would fall further. I was thinking he will be the starter for at least the first few games of the season which would have covered me for Bell's 3 games suspension. Oh well, taken right in front of me!!

And the other shoe drops. I liked Bell as long as I could have Abdullah, too. Starting to think a little more about best ball format now in addition to the fact that I like RB depth. I am putting together an odd team, though...

Knowing JScott was probably looking at RB depth, it took some balls to do it that way. With that said, I like the combination of Bell/Abdullah in a best-ball format. And I just like Abdullah in general

There's a few players still on the board that I'm surprised about.

Really liked the Michael Floyd pick. I think he's in for a bounce-back season more in line with what was expected of him last year.

Thoughts through six rounds:

JScott- Made the most intriguing pick of the draft thus far right off the bat. How it impacts his overall roster is yet to be determined. It created more risk/reward picks down the road to cover the talent gap between his team and others (at RB primarily). A real shift in thinking here. As I said, intriguing.

Fumbleweed- This is not a draft spot that I want in future drafts this summer. Charles is no better than the next 4 or 5 RBs that were taken and it left me with a drop-off at WR. Would have preferred a similar RB and one of the true studs at the receiver position. Didn't get that. Been playing catch up ever since.

Football Guru- Rolled the dice at RB with two largely unproven commodities in Randle and Yeldon. One of those guys needs to pan out because the WRs are average and there's no QB on the roster as of yet.

Riceman- Good looking team, particularly if Brady can get his suspension reduced. Really nice trio of WRs and Adrian Peterson has a ton to prove.

Vikings4Ever- Waiting on a QB just like Guru has done. This decision has allowed him to stockpile talent and potential. Didn't care for the Marshall pick, but I thought the Gordon pick was well timed and well worth it given his upside.

Robb- Love this team so far. The balance is fantastic and I can see the pieces really fitting together. Forsett is my primary concern as I think he could be this year's version of Lamar Smith. Back in 2000, journeyman Lamar Smith had a career year seemingly out of nowhere. I took him in the second round in 2001 and it killed my season. Fortunately for Robb, Forsett has a good OC and Coleman was a nice pick-up to give the position stablity.

White Wonder- I thought WW stole Beckham, who should have been a late first round pick from my perspective. RB is deep. No QB yet, so that running game will need to be the strength of the team along with Beckham.

ICEMAN- Again, we see the impact of grabbing a QB early here as Forte and Gore are a solid, but average duo at RB and the WRs are iffy. But, on the flip side, you've got Aaron Rodgers who along with Luck, occupies a tier all his own.

Dan- One of the most interesting drafts of them all with Dan trying to fill in the gaps that come from drafting a tight end in the first round. Is Gronk worth having Emmanuel Sanders as your #1 WR...and C.J. Spiller as your #2 RB? It will be fascinating finding out the answer to that question in the fall.

Shovel- Another team that I really like. Nothing not to like, really. Solid, dependable QB...young RBs who will garner plenty of goal line carries and a WR corps that is as good as any in the league sans maybe Ray. This team could go places, IMO.

Ray Lewis' Limo Driver- Wide receivers anchor this team. Something that works these days better than it used to. Since selecting Thomas and Bryant, Ray has been trying to bolster his running game. Will that facet of his team be good enough? We shall see.

Remote- VERY young wide receivers on this team, but with plenty of upside. I loved the Murray pick, but was less high on the C.J. Anderson selection. High upside team...a little unlike Remote's teams of the past. What remains the same, though, is the emphasis on a strong ground game.

Great analysis, Fumble. The answer to that question could come down to comparable usage. If Sanders does what he did last year, then yes . . . I'm content with him as a #1. I think Ben is underrated, and is going to be top 3 at the QB position, and will need to be for this to work. We'll see; there's work to do in 7-10, but I needed to play this strategy out. CJ is a covet, because I think he was poorly used in Buffalo, but I probably blew that pick, because I could have had him a round later, meaning Jarvis Landry could have been in place of Steve Smith.

I do really like the Sims pick. Given the opportunity to start, he could excel in the TB offense. This is the round to take the chance like this, if he becomes the full time starter....then you have a "golden gift" without much downside. At least there are only 2 people ving for the starting role....

Damn, hoping for good players to fall in this draft is like hoping for leftovers after Joey Chestnut visits for thanksgiving dinner.

I concur on the good analysis but, like WW, I disagree with a perceived weakness. (I think I have two of the top 15 WRs at worst if both stay healthy and expect V-Jax to score more than twice this season (I know, I know...analysis was through six rounds). Between Yeldon's expected volume and the likelihood that Randle starts AT LEAST half of the games this year, I think I'll easily get RB2 production from one of the two pretty regularly in a best-ball format.

I'm pretty sure Dan turned back the clock to 2011 or so at RB :ninja:

Or . . . maybe I'm buying into the idea that a talented running back living in football Gehenna is going to feel rejuvenated playing for a quality team behind one of the best lines in the NFL. :)

Make no mistake; I'm not settling for him. I wanted Darren McFadden. If I'm wrong, I'll take that. But it's worth the swing.

At least until he tears his vag.

He played 16 games last year on a terrible team. I'm thinking he works harder and stays healthy. Don't rain on my optimism, Vikes.

And who's already favoring a hammy. ;)

I don't think he's a bad pick. I considered him at the last turn. He's definitely got upside behind that line. I just can't trust him to stay healthy, and question how much he has left in the tank.

Don't get me wrong, I was going to take him the next time around if he was there. He was a strong consideration instead of V-Jax at 7.3 so I could double-down on the Dallas backfield. My problem with D-Mac is that Dallas uses a fair amount of zone runs and I don't think he can be successful for any length of time with those kind of runs.

With that said, it is easily worth an eighth-round pick to prove me wrong :D

Hmm

A ltitle upset stafford didn't fall. But then again I didn't expect someone to take 2 qbs in the first 8 rounds. I don't personally care for that move myself but when it happens you shrug it off and move on to the next guy on your list even if the value isn't as tremendous

No, but he did just start yoga for flexibility to avoid the vag tear. I feel randle will get more carries, but that's just me. This was a perfectly placed dart though, cuz behind that line Dan could put up 850 yards.

He stays healthy, he'll start. He's got the most talent in that backfield. There may be more mix than last year, but I think Dallas knew what they were doing when they allowed Murray to walk. And if I'm wrong . . . oh, well, it won't be the first time, and not nearly the most damaging (Steve Slaton comes to mind).

It's a good thing that you posted this Robb, because I had no idea that I was up!

It looks like I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue.

Sims/Martin was the pick I wanted to make, and I heavily considered Sims/Owen Daniels. In the end I just needed a few more TD's in my receiving corp. With the rise of TE's....so to speak, they seem very deep.

Slaton's case was so odd because he was never given the opportunity to duplicate his rookie season. He ran the ball really well. I never understood why teams weren't willing to give him a chance.

Some dude named Dominic suffered a similar fate, but he changed his name and sealed the deal! lol!

True dat. I just meant Slaton wasn't really a bust. He kind of got the shaft, IMO...ie didn't get a fair shake.
