RIP Gregg I've seen ABB more then any other band including Metallica Easy to do when they played for two weeks straight every March in NYC. Some years I went to 2 or 3 per March. RIP Gregg I've seen ABB more then any other band including Metallica Easy to do when they played for two weeks straight every March in NYC. Some years I went to 2 or 3 per March. Trust me. I know what hospice is. His manager (see other thread) that he was not in hospice recently (regardless of location). I always liked the Allman Brothers in concert. Saw them a few times. Love the music.

I see no reason to harp on the fact he posted on FB that he didn't enter Hospice. Non Story. A pioneer is dead. Let us all unite and enjoy his legacy

patweisers44 697 Posted May 28, 2017 In a time where we've recently lost Prince, Bowie, Cornell, etc. To me this one bothers me much more.
TimmySmith 2,782 Posted May 28, 2017 Rarely has there been a band where the leader was a musical genius and he may net have been the best musician in the group. The tightest band ever.

The true leader was the one who started the band, and brought little brother in for vocals.

Old School 360 Posted May 28, 2017 I was fortunate to meet Greg on a number of occasions. My good friend Allen Woody played bass in the ABB until he passed away. Woody, Warren, and Greg shared a tour bus, and I spent some time on a few of those runs. Good times. Greg thinks he contracted hepatitis from a dirty needle at a tattoo parlor.
