Doug's Big Boards Version 2.0 - Top 200

Recommended Posts

Doug will be updating his Boards every day this week beginning with the PPR version today.

Top 200 PPR - 9/1

Top 200 Non-PPR - 9/3

Top 200 Half-Point PPR - 9/2

Top 200 High Stakes - FFPC - 9/5

Top 200 High Stakes - TFC - 9/4

Ks & D/STs - 9/5

I've received a number of email questions about the schedule chart not showing colors when printing the rankings. If you ise Internet Explorer, you can alter the print settings in your browser. In IE 11 go to File > Page Setup > and put a checkmark in the "Print Background Color and Images" box.

Enjoy!

Chris Ivory has been one of my favorite sneaky picks, I grabbed him in the June mock and the IBL, but 33 is a hell of a jump.

I'll talk more about him during on the standard BB that will hit on Thursday. I have always loved his talent and believe in Gailey's ability to get RB2 production out of him, but been fearful of his durability and didn't know what to expect initially what plans the Jets had for Stacy or how quickly Ridley was going to heal. Bilal Powell will probably get his fair share of third-down work, but I could easily see this being a career year for Ivory.

Oh dang! I've been waiting for the non-ppr 2.0 to come out today! My draft is tonight and Mr. Orth's big board is a great tool to have handy! If there is a draft version of the non-ppr 2.0....pm me a link! Ha!

Yeah, real life keeps making it hard for me to get or stay ahead of my content. Then again, it was my own crazy idea to do five Big Boards in five days  The non-PPR board should hit the site Thursday.

I felt pretty damn good about picking up Chris Ivory in the 10th round in a 12 team league. I mean, I'm getting a full time starting RB. On a shitty offense, granted, but still.

Love the big board, some comments:

No love for Forte? Guy is consistent every year and you have guys like forsett (one year guy and is not young) and d murray (sharing passing work with sproles/matthews) over him in ppr?

Ppr imo Forte is top 5 all day.

You're not going to get an argument from me about his consistency. Forte's ranking is based on my opinion of a number of things: age, career workload, the Bears' offensive line, reduced snaps (Forte saw roughly 87 percent of the snaps in 2013 and 93 percent in 2014, which is almost unheard of in today's game) and the expected dip in receptions from 80-100 to about 50-60. He was No. 3 overall on my preseason Big Board last year if memory serves, so I recognize what he is capable of.

Forte's YPC dipped under 4.0 for the first time in five seasons last year and HC John Fox has made it clear he wants to run the ball more often in 2015. Chicago brought in Jacquizz Rodgers and Jeremy Langford; I believe the two of them will combined to steal about 20 percent of the running back snaps whether we like it or not. Perhaps I'm being a bit harsh with his ranking, but I do expect him to be more of a fringe RB1 this year than a clear-cut RB1.

Forsett gets somewhat favorable treatment because he should benefit from added receptions (60-plus) and he gets to run behind one of the best o-lines in the league. As for Murray, I explained my rationale in the write-up. I think Murray's scoring upside (touchdowns, that is) is higher than Forte's.

The Davante hype is out of control!!! Wow.

Thanks as always Guru!

I'm not sure if this is directed at my ranking of him or not -_- I had Adams in the mid-third shortly after the Nelson news came down, but knocked him down a peg after taking a few more days to consider the situation.

I don't think somewhere around 75-1000-8 is out of the question for Adams. Heck, given his high-point abilities, I think 10-plus scores is probably doable.

Thank you Doug. Is there a printer friendly version of this?

Mike touched on this issue above. Give this a try:

"If you use Internet Explorer, you can alter the print settings in your browser. In IE 11 go to File > Page Setup > and put a checkmark in the "Print Background Color and Images" box."

That is essentially the same advice I have typically given folks over the years and it usually works like a charm.

What's your logic of Peterson over bell at the #1 spot in ppr.

ditto on this one ...

if you COMBINED AP's two best seasons receiving (40, 43) you just EQUAL what Bell did last year (83) :shocking:

on a ppg avg, Bell (and a host of others) will blow him away, fairly confident of that.

AP has finished #1 overall but one time, and he needed a ('roided up, imo) run at the record to achieve that ... it's gonna take a repeat effort of that for him to be in the convo, and i sure as hell don't see that happening.

with all due respect, Doug, i think this ranking of AP is a huge whiff :dunno:

Peterson is a generational talent and has a chip on his shoulder the size of denali. The last time he was this motivated (and i'd argue the motivation is even more now) we all know what he did.

This would be a bit more true if he was no longer with the Vikes. He's still on a team that a few months ago he wanted nothing to do with. That doesn't equate to being more motivated to me.

NPG.... he may not be the #1 fantasy RB this year but he's about as sure thing as there is to be a Top 5. If I have the #1 pick and my RB finishes in the Top 5, I'll be pretty happy.

A large thanks for putting this together. I was able to snag 6 of your top 47 PPR picks.

Thanks a million for handling the PPR/non-PPR/half PPR scoring types Doug! Before you added the half PPR (three years ago or whatever) I used to average your other two together :) Your boards are great and the color coding of the schedule can really help break those close ties between two players.

I mean no offense, but Jaquizz Rodgers and Jeremy Langford will not steal 20 pct of the snaps from Forte. Forte should be downgraded from his ranking last year simply because the bears suck worse and Marc Trestman isn't there to force the ball to Forte on 3 trillion pass attempts. Nevertheless, Forte will still easily get almost every carry. He will be one of the few backs in the league not to split carries at all. He should be a very solid pick but should not be taken before the 2nd round.

Do you realize that Forte took over 1,000 snaps last year? The third-place RB (D. Murray) took 800. Just for comparison's sake, workhorses like Marshawn Lynch (728), Justin Forsett (721), Eddie Lacy (697), LeSean McCoy (791) and Jamaal Charles (665) all saw fewer than 800 snaps. With that said, I downgraded Forte mostly for the first three reasons I gave - age, career workload, the Bears' offensive line - which is why I put them in the order I did. I'd bet good money Forte isn't going to see 93 percent of the snaps either. It might not be 80 percent, but it won't be 93.

It appears part of what you're saying suggests Forte should go in the first, but then you finish by saying he shouldn't go before the second round?

First round opportunity on a team that will likely get him 2nd round results. Pick Jeremy Hill instead.

So you agree with my ranking but just didn't care about the fact that I said he would see fewer snaps, particularly the 80 percent part?

I agree on Hill > Forte.

I agree on Hill > Forte.

.

Ppr? I disagree.

He may have saw alot of snaps but he still didn't equal d murrays touches. He is one of the safer rb1s in my opinion. For a guy Murray who is going to lose passing down work, to a guy in Forte who is a passing work specialist I have a hard time seeing Murray outscoring him.

Touchdowns are hard to predict, but I feel the passing yards Forte loses is going to kake made up for in rushing yards.

Either way i still feel he is tier 2 below, bell charles lacy peterson

I agree on Hill > Forte.

Yes. I agree with the ranking. But he won't be seeing fewer snaps because of the presence of other running backs. He will simply not be catching as many passes this season.

Bump. Love looking back around half way through season to see who is where.

As expected Freeman looks like the biggest mover. Also as expected about 50% projected in top 10 are out of top 10. Crazy the turnover every year
