Favorite Cars

Recommended Posts

I know that this is a bit of distraction from the usual GC threads where we discuss current events, come to a consensus and solve global problems, but what the heck let's do something different and argue about our favorite cars.

Me, I like the old school cars, so here are a few favs.

'57 Corvette

'63 Corvette Stingray

'67 Shelby Mustang - though I've never liked those center headlights.

'69 GTO Judge - First car I remember my father owning as a child.

'70 Chevelle SS

When I was a kid it was the lambo countach and the Ferrari F355 spyder

As I got older it was the 90s Acura NSX-T

Now, for design I really like the BMW 6 series Gran Coupe for a sedan, and the Jaguar F-Type for a coupe

I like a wide range of cars. From a '63 split window vette to an '09-'17 gtr (I own a '16).

I hope to have a collection someday...and not just the matchbox kind.

Ever since Steve had one on 90210, my dream car is a Convertible Corvette.

I will get one before I turn 50 I hope

Ive always like the 64 vette and 64 Mustang since I was born in 64

My first vehicle was also a 64 Chevy C10 step side pick up with a 283, 3 speed and a wooden bed.

Love your first pick

My others are

57 Chevy Bel Air

74 Lemans Sport Coupe

My best friend growing up was rather rich, and for his 16th birthday his Dad bought him a mint 57 Chevy Bel Air. I think that was the first time growing up I really learned the difference between well-off(our family) and friggin rich.

My best friend in HS had a candy apple red 55.

His dad wasnt rich, but he was a mechanic.

He bought it at an auction, dropped a 454 in it, painted it, then gave it to his son when he turned 18.

During the inspection at the auction, he and his brother pulled the distributor wire loose so it wouldnt start when they rolled it up to start the bidding.

I just hope no one says Mazda Miata

You might not say that if you had access to one. :nono:

Not quite a Convertible 'Vette, but this is my Summer Ride(least it's not a Miata), could use a touch more power at the very top - but it is so much fun to drive and I liked the sort of retro look to it.

Do you care what year it is?

Corvettes have been my favorite car since I can remember...My dad always said he would have a vette by 40, then 50, then 60...He still doesn't own one. :wall:

Right now you can get 90's cars pretty cheap. The 80's cars are pretty much discovered. Slim pickins as far as classics, but there are a few. In 20 they will all be scooped up.

The C4 Chevy Corvette Is Highly Underrated

So let's consider performance for just a second. Yes, there's no doubt the initial C4 was a huge shame. For the first 10 years of its life, it made just 250 horsepower -- and no, that wasn't really all that great by the standards of its day. It was slow back then, it's slow today, and it looks ancient by modern standards.

That all changed with two major improvements in the beginning of the 1990s. Number one was, of course, the arrival of the high-performance ZR-1, which offered 375 hp and then 405 hp. It was a monster. It was fast back then, and it's even fast today: It could do zero to 60 in 4.4 seconds and hit 185 miles per hour.

Autotrader - C4 Vettes 92-96 - granted with a kid, it might be a little harder to get one...but these aren't really that expensive.

he is only 4, maybe a few more years.

I'll buy it with Ethereum ;)

I swear I've been hearing about a mid-engine 'Vette since the early 90's, see a prototype and then...nothing.

This IS happening.

Big fan of the 63 split window and old mustangs. My cousin had a 67 (I think) GT 350 when I was a kid and I thought it was about the coolest thing I had ever seen.

Not everyone's cup of tea, but I actually own one of my dream rigs. This year and color though not quite this condition.

Always love old American Muscle Cars. And Mustangs. As a teen I started liking fast sports cars. Loved 911's growing up. Got my S2000 in 1999 and it's about the perfect sports car. Good power, exceptional handling, convertible, 9000 RPM red line. Didn't really plan on getting another until the Shelby GT350 Mustang came out a couple years ago. A great combination of power and handling. The first Mustang that could truly be called a sports car. The two toys together:

Like the color on both, and I usually shy away from reds. Very nice.

The 1969 Camaro

The 1985 Ferrari 308 GTSI

The 1968 Mustang.

Nissan 300zx fairlady Z will always be my fave car style. Black, Ttop, 2 seater, twin turbo. Would kill for a restored 93 with maybe a new 370z engine and guts if that would fit.

My brother had one of those, it ended up in a Florida canal.

I used to have this car (black) when I lived in Dallas.

Man, was it fun to drive. Fast, and super agile. It was like driving a go cart, only at 90 mph.
