And the Detroit Lions stand alone...

I live on the west coast; and surprising you don't realize it living there - Phoenix is one of the most depressed ecomonmies right now with one of the worst housing markets and it is expected that the 2010 census will show a DECREASE in population. 3 of my current employees have actually moved to my area from Phoenix in the past year in a half. You don't have a rediculous surplus in homes because people want to move to Phoenix...

You really are some kind of stupid. GB & MIN are both realistic picks to win the NFC next year, and I can guarantee you in a few months I could find at least a few experts picking either to come out of the NFC. Obvioulsy, they're both in the division you don't think is strong...

Are you stupid? Seriously. What does a decade of history have to do with next year's division strength? Project for yourself the wins of the top 3 teams in every division in football (excluding the lions becuase the statement was the lions have an easy run due to the easy division they play in); and you'll see how dumb you are. GB, MIN, & CHI will be very near the top.

The NFC north is one of the best divisions in football. Do you really think that playing against GB, MIN, and CHI (who should be very good if Cutler pulls his head out of his asz) twice a year helps your road to the playoffs?

I live in WA and it is so comical to be here, every Seahawk fan is convinced they were cheated out of a superbowl: newsflash: your team was never very good, you lucked your way to a super bowl through perhaps the worst NFC crop of teams ever assembled. Also, you lost by 11, you could only put up 10 points on the board, and you deserved to win? Your front office is a mess, two good hires for coach and GM but of course you've found a way to foul it up by giving your new HC more personel power than your GM... that makes sense.

Jaxie - the less forgivable coaching error in that series was Childress' overall approach to the series. 12 men in the huddle was a mistake, I can accept a mistake - I can't accept idiocy, and that is exactly what his playcalling in the last 2 minutes was. He had Favre, and one of the greatest passing offenses in the league this year, with a perfect ammount of time left to drive the field and he calls repeated run up the guts for 0-2 yards. He was clearly more concerned with running the clock out and getting in to OT than winning the game. Some of the worst coaching I've ever seen, had he stayed agressive, Favre would have a had a great chance in using that clock and getting them around the 20 yard line or better for a last second FG. I was beside myself with how terrible that 2 minute drive was. Consider, would they have even gotten anywhere near FG range if not for Taylors 12-15 yard run which put them there? Childress is lucky that happened or he would be getting alot of media attention for not even giving them a chance to get in to range.

He's not as 'talented' as many of you think he is, watch him more often and you will see. His positives (and the reason he is the most overrated player in football): He's a physical specimen. He is fast (not quick), strong, and a nightmare to bring down (when you are in front of him and he is up to speed). His strength and speed make for many highlight reel plays which is the main reason he is overrated. His negatives: He is not just not quick, his first 2 or 3 steps are brutally slow. He gets taken down easily if he gets hit before he gets up to speed, which is almost always. And the fumbles (although we should start pointing fingers at his coaching team because they have had time to correct this). I was a huge AD fan going in to this year simply because I'd only seen 5 or so of his games. Having watched every touch this year carefully, he is an athletic freak with very ordinary talent -- making him a very good back but not great. For those who want to talk about how great his stats are, please first consider that Chester would not be a significant statistical drop off, if there even would be any.

    Who Dey, Who Dat

A couple of years ago I was surprised by the stupid "who dey think they can beat them bengals" slogan. Then comes the "who dat think they can beat them saints" slogan. Am I missing something? How do teams and fans actually rally around a saying so stupid, something that makes the entire fan base look like white trash idiots? the "who dat" nation -- are you kidding? I really hope I am missing something. Also, idiocy aside - did the Saints just blatently steal the Bengals slogan?

I've watched every Vike game this year and I think I have a very good handle on AD... He's a great back, but not the possibly-greatest-all time everyone billed him to be. His struggles this year start with the O-Line, they simply have done a consistently horrendous job opening up lanes for him. The playcalling has not helped him either, nothing inventive, not enough outside run calls. Play action wasn't used enough, it isn't just an aid for the passing game. However, its not all to blame on them as their struggles have helped shed light on AD's running issues: #1 - he is not patient enough behind the line - he often will plow into a pile for a 0 yard gain rather than wait a half second behind his line for something to develop. This is a desirable trait in some situations, but not all. The great ones possess patience. #2 - his skills behind the line are lacking. Chris Johnson demonstrated how important behind the line skills are this year, he would charge up the middle in to a pile, stop, make the D colapse on him and then bounce outside, consistenly. AD will rarely do this, his quickness is not anywhere near CJ2K's, so when he attempts to stop and start in the backfield he is taken down easily. #3 - he is easy to tackle in the backfield. Guy is a beast in the open field, but in the backfield he goes down easily. Once he has his speed and can keep the D in front of him, he's very difficult to tackle. But his first 3 steps are not as fast as he is given credit for and is tackled easily before he gets to the second level and up to speed. #4 - fumbles. He doesn't hold the ball with any consistency. Sometimes its high and tight, sometimes he runs with it extended. Also, he doesn't wrap it up with his other arm in the process of going down. CJ2K demonstrated far superior skills this year, and is no doubt the better back. AP can get back in the discussion this year if he spends his ofseason working on his quickness, fumbling, and adds some new moves to his backfield game to help him find cutback lanes and outside runs. I'm hoping the coaching staff helps him against NO by calling more play action passes and some more inventive running calls to keep the D guessing. They haven't done a good job of that this year.

    2010 NORSE Battledome thread!

If Favre plays: #1 MIN 13-3 #2 GB 12-4 #3 CHI 9-7 #4 DET 5-11 If Favre doesn't play: #1 GB 13-3 #2 CHI 10-6 #3 MIN 9-7 #4 DET 5-11 As soon as Favre retires, this division is Green Bay's for the next decade+. Rodgers has Jennings & Finley & James Jones & Jordy Nelson to grow old with along with a solid young defense and a great front office that consistently drafts solid young talent. A team like the pack that have a very strong core that builds through the draft is poised to be very strong for many years to come.

    ***Official NFL Playoffs Betting***

You're obviously a very novice and inexperienced gambler, as only such would call anything, let alone either of those bets a lock.

Yeah, thats a great idea if you're fine with picking 40% winners. Smart betters (who bet alot) bet the underdog +the spread more often than not because the average better bets favorites... causing the better money and line value to be on the under dogs. I've got: NYJ +2.5 PHI +4 BAL +3 GB even $110 on each I like the Jets to win by 4, Phily to win or lose by 3 or less, Baltimore to Win or lose by 3 or less & GB to win by 8. These games are really toss-ups, so the smart money is on taking the points. I actually think NYJ & GB should win convincingly though, and PHI/DAL & NE/BAL are truely 50/50.

    Packers Vs. Vikings Predictions

agreed. the vikings are a BAD matchup for the packers. The Packers only hope is to change their game plan and quit running the ball in such predictable situations. Go out there and tell Aaron he's got to drop at least 30 points and give him the opportunity to do so. The X factor in this game is Aaron Rodgers, he's got to come up BIG for them to hang with the Vikings. Ryan Grant sure as hell isn't going to do it. The packers need to adopt the Steelers philosophy this year, if the run game isn't working, then quit trying. Ryan Grant is not going to be successful so they need to understand that going in rather than wasting too many plays trying to establish the run. You can't go a whole year w/o a running game, I'm not advocating that -- but you can win a game without one. I think it will be a tough, low scoring game -- because often times these epic matchups turn out that way as everyone plays conservitively and not to loose as they are just trying not to make the big mistake. Vikings 24, Pack 10.

    Welker is killing me

the biggest problem with your guys' welker situation is you have absolutely no clue when he will come back. He could be back this week; or, there it is just as likely he won't be back until week 10! Bill understands that he is a weapon that teams need to scheme against so he hasn't tipped his hat either way. Welker is just questionable, listed as limited in practice. Well, sadly, a player could practice on a limited basis even if they were going to be out for the next 10 weeks. Welker could be back this week, or Bill could list him as a questionable game time decision for a very extended period of time. I don't own him but I would be concerned.

    Need Career/Life Advice

I'm a 26 year old retail store manager with a BA in Business Admin. Problem is that all of my experience is in retail/sales and my degree is in that line as well. I live in a city of about 150k; is there any line of work a guy like me can get in to that would allow me to make at least 50k per year starting? I currently make 60k per year and would love to get out of the retail/sales industry but I just don't think I can afford getting in at an entry level position in another field. At least that I'm aware of, whats a guy like me who wants to jump industries do?
