Have u guys dropped Demarco Murray yet?

Recommended Posts

Think i am tonight (Have Henry) for Dede Westbrook...amazing hes still on waivers.

Cant see starting him in the playoffs still splitting carries with Henry.

I'm desperate. It's either him, Mike Davis, Cohen, or K. Williams in a PPR/Return yards league....I don't know who to trust. Almost thinking about throwing in Cohen since I get 1 point for every 10 return yards.

Probably Mike Davis though. I don't know. Watch Murray have a huge game. Tough choice.

In one league which I snuck into the playoffs, it's between him, Davis, and Peterson for the start. My other RB is Alf (and Elliot) who I am starting. Right now I'm leaning towards starting him b/c of the matchup. Although San Fran's D has played a little better with Garappolo in maybe because the D gets more of a rest. I think JStew is on the wire and I like his matchup against GB, but I'm not really confident in him either. I would probably start Peterson if he were healthy but I doubt he's even going to play.

He has been a loyal player on my team. Hasn't complained about sitting on the bench and he will stay there and watch Dede this week. Since he has had such a great attitude I'll let him stay on my team and enjoy our championship celebrations after next week.

For some reason I still have him on my team. Every day I consider dumping him for someone. Been considering it all day for Davis or Westbrook.

Ha yeah no idea why im keeping him. At this point youre looking for homeruns....no slap singles.

Think i may play henry this week as i think game script favors him. Want to play Westbrook...but worried they get up big (especially if Nuk doesnt play) and he doesnt get the targets.

I think that with a home game if they get up and smell blood they will run up the score and make a statement against a division rival.

Yep. Sure did. Never even considered him in my auction draft. And it worked for me as all I heard from owners this year was "when will Henry take over?". It's not my problem you don't believe it.

Also, check the title of this thread.

Love how clairvoyant everyone is after the fact.

Pretty much everyone had him a mid 2nd round pick.

Ok. I didn't like him. Should I lie or something? In my league, he went for less than 10% of salary cap where Bell went for 30% and McCoy and Gordon went for about 25%. I guess the people in my league were smarter than the people in your league concerning Murray. My targeted players excluded Murray completely. I got Bell, Hyde, and Hunt as my main 3 RBs. I won the regular season. Oh, and since I mentioned that I won the regular season and the regular season is now over, I suppose I am lying about that too. Why do you even come on this site if you don't believe what posters say?

No I don't really buy that Murray was on a do not draft list when he recorded the stats he did last year and was pretty much a consensus second round pick.

Even Todd Gurley with his terrible year was not on anybody's do not draft list.

If you just didn't like him and didn't want him on your team that's one thing but his numbers certainly warranted where he was selected.

I got stuck with him because I needed a RB at the turn. He was there as was Howard. I figured Tennessee had a much better O-line and was hyped as a great running team. Chicago I figured would suck. Bad call grhhhhh. At least I am still in the playoffs.

Considering benching him for Stewart or Cohen. PPR so that makes Stewart less appealing...

I'm strongly considering dropping him for Stewart. Can u really take another 36 yards and boom bust for a td in the semis? Guy has been brutal.

I just think the goal of prepping for the FF draft is accurately predicting the upcoming year. Not just looking at the previous year and slotting a player in based on that. Murray had almost 350 touches last year and Henry was up and coming. I don't buy into RBBC situations unless I think one of them are very injury prone. So for me he was a DND for the most part. If he were to be going at 3-4% of our salary cap, maybe I would have thrown out a number. But for the 9% he went for, no thanks. It was an auction, I could have had him if I wanted him.

Whether that was a good decision or not was to be determined. God knows I've had my share of mistakes.

San Fran has been pretty strong against the run these last 3-4 games. He's an easy sit. I'm making a somewhat crazy move and starting Cohen in a PPR/Return yards league this week.

Cohen is actually 10th overall in that format, so maybe it's not that crazy. He's boom or bust. Could get me 5 points or 25. Going for it all since I am a huge underdog.

True...but i mean AT THE TIME...draft time...he was a 2nd round guy. And thats essentally based off what he did the previous year, upcoming schedule, oline projections, etc.

And full disclosure....i traded Fitzgerald and Kamara for Derrick Henry (again...AT THE TIME...it made sense.) Its all such a crapshoot.

Yeah. The whole thing about rookie RBs for me, is I hang onto them even if they don't start off well. A couple years back I took a chance on giving two four year contracts at my auction.

One was David Johnson - 4 years at 1% of cap with 4 being the max contract. Johnson didn't even start until halfway through his first year.

One was Cameron Artis-Payne - 4 years at 1% of cap. I dropped Payne after 2 years even though I don't get the contract spots back for the last 2 years. Only the $$

So obviously 1 major win and 1 major bust..

I only ended up with Murray because I missed one of my drafts and he was auto-drafted for me.

I ended up with one of the worst possible teams with no studs whatsoever, but managed to scrape into the playoffs with some good WW additions (Carson Wentz, Kamara, Rams DST).

Murray is the modern day Eddie George. Too many hits, too big, too slow but people will still draft him because of the name recognition. He will be on my DND list next year for sure.

But would you start Cohen over him in just a straight PPR? I'm considering it but it's a "get cute" move that could cause regret.

Man I keep looking at this. I guess worse case in a PPR his floor is usually around 7-8. If he gets that TD then your glad you started him. I wished they just moved on. Davis from Seattle is looking more risky.

He's burned me too many times I think I'm going with Perine simply for the lack of competition, they should be playing with the lead, and he's been getting 3 catches a game lately.

I it has been because of his production.

Hard too not have a player that has posted him seasonal ff points.

I not sure about his contract with the Titans, but I do think he will either be with another team or even used in a lesser role next season.

But going into this past season there is no way he should have been on anyone's dnd list.

You're wrong there I think.

Murray is slow and banged up and his YPC is one of the lowest among RB in the league. Based on his ADP, he definitely deserved to be on some DND lists.

He's done as a viable RB1, no matter where he goes. He will be on my DND list next year, unless he drops well below his ADP.

NOW his adp is bad...but it wasnt when he was drafted back in august, september.

Fantasypros had him ahead of Ajayi, howard, and Gurley.....doubt THEY were on DND draft lists.

That's my point though, a lot of people were avoiding Murray like the plague, they could see he was getting old and slow and had a bad YPC. Unfortunately one of my leagues I missed the draft and he was auto selected. I heard a lof of fantasy experts, and people on this board saying DND Murray.

Now you're right, his ADP will drop like a rock, he probably will be somewhere in rounds 5-8 just due to name recognition and past fantasy performances. I will avoid him, I'd rather take a younger guy with more upside, Murray has a very low ceiling. I look at him as the current day Eddie George, a beat up RB with low production but people draft him because they know the name.

This shows the difference between forward thinkers vs. those who are always looking in the review mirror for answers.

Later dude.
