Fantasy Football: Five Replacements for Denver Broncos Knowshon Moreno in Week 3

It’s a young season that has already been filled with numerous injuries, but one of the most important ones so far has happened this week with Denver Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno.

Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels has not been specific about the injury sustained, stating simply that Moreno “sustained a little something” during Friday’s walk-through practice. Moreno has been ruled out for Sunday’s game and will be replaced by veteran Correll Buckhalter as well as the newly acquired former Patriots running back Laurence Maroney.

But fantasy football owners with Moreno on their rosters are now in dire straits as they search for last-minute replacements in their starting lineup.

To help you with your decision-making process, this article will break down the potential waiver wire replacements for Moreno in week three.

-----------------

5. Marshawn Lynch, RB, Buffalo Bills (at New England Patriots)

It’s hard to really advocate any of the players in this backfield right now—or really any player on the Bills at all—but running back Marshawn Lynch might be the best fantasy option in this offense… For now.

After receiving just three carries in week one, the Bills may have begun showcasing Lynch for trade in week two when they unexpectedly gave him 17 carries.

Though he didn’t do much with those carries, contributing just 64 rushing yards, he received 7 more carries than Fred Jackson and first round pick C.J. Spiller combined.

Lynch can’t be considered a long-term option in this offense, but the Bills seem to be trying to increase his trade value before the deadline. He’s not an excellent play against the Patriots, who should have a lead early, but he should get the most carries in this three-headed backfield.

Projected point total: 11 points

Projected stat line: 50 yards rushing, 1 touchdown

This guy knows how to work the system, why pay for advertising when you can get it for free.

Also, i read through his article and it is next to worthless.

Kliquid, that is a good article for people playing in yahoo free leagues, not for people who devote time to studying fantasy football like most people on this site.

If i was to make an article about 5 waiver wire runningbacks here would be the 5.

1. Keiland Williams

2. Dimitri Nance

3. BJGE

4. Rashad Jennings

5. Mike Goodson

The point of the article is running backs that can start week 3. It has a purpose in shallower leagues of which there are tens of thousands out there.

I'm pretty sure the point of this article was to lure people into clicking on his links to inflate his Bleacher Report Blog numbers in hopes of one day getting paid for his drivel. :dunno:

Post a full article a couple of times. I'll read it and if I think you're at least entertaining, then I'll give your site a click. Sound fair? (Hint: It is)

It's not my site. If I owned BleacherReport, I'd be a rich man. It's merely a nice place for me to post my content.

I also will be writing at FFToday.com starting next week, doing weekly game-matchup breakdowns.

This. Thanks.

I already get paid for the "drivel."

Every one of these guys is available in at least 1/3 of ESPN.com leagues. I believe the lowest was available in 37% of leagues. Mike Tolbert is available in something like 65% of leagues.

This is an article about players who could potentially start for you this week. Other players who are likely available are not ones whom you would want in your starting lineup this week.

Your article does have value, however I do not think the posters at fftoday are your target audience, for an article like that. It is better suited towards the more casual ff player.

You got me to read the whole article, though.
