Legal Question

Recommended Posts

It's the day before a hurricane hits. You've laid out 300 sand bags to protect your house.

Some lazy thieves start taking sandbags from the front yard.

Legal to shoot them?

Man I would say so for sure. Pretty sure that's looting and while you might get away with stealing Jordans from the mall. A good old boys gonna kill you all doing that .

Actually Im pretty sure they could. BIL and sister bought the house and lot behind them, demolished the house, and cleared the landscape. Plans on extending his backyard and putting other stuff up back there. However, right now its mostly just cut down trees and such. He had to take precautions such as putting up a No Tresspassing sign and other stuff (not sure what) in case someone trespassed on it. If they did, even with the intention to steal stuff, and broke their leg or something then they could sue them.

They are essentially trying to wreck your home. So, of course they should be shot.

Did this (stealing sandbags in place) happen or hypothetical question?

In my area if someone trespasses on your property and drowns in your unfenced pool you are liable
