Runbad officially BACK!

Recommended Posts

So, I went up to Phoenix thinking there would be all these juicy 2/3 games ... pretty sure everyone at both tables were 100 percent sober. They weren't great players, by any means, but I started losing right away.

Friday: First big hand was KK and the flop was 774. Shoved on the turn J and was called by 7,8 off. So the guy called my pfr, then flatted my c-bet, woulda walked right into it if I had JJ, but instead I had KK and the river didn't save me.

Next hand, no more than 15 minutes later, I call a small pfr with K9s and flop the jont. 10s, 7s, 2s. Pfraiser c-bets, I raise, he calls, one other player folds. Turn comes, 10d. I shove. Damnit, the guy says ... sits there for a little bit, then throws a chip in ... I call. As4s. I am drawing dead.

Short stacked and in the bb, I have 47d. Couple limpers, flop comes 2d, 3s, 7c. I shove. Guy who limped in with pocket aces calls. They hold. -$400 on the session.

To make a long story short, my next session, Saturday day, lasted longer but I still ended up down almost $300. I lost with KK again, never got aces. Lost with JJ, lost with AQs against AQoff when he went runner, runner flush. -$300.

So, -$800 was worst case scenario, almost there, just wanna go back to the place I am crashing, And then my friend is being a poosay, not being fun to hang out with, and we get in an argument, because he is also beating me at poker and he says something like, "We have already established I am a better poker player than you are." But we make up, I crash on the uncomfortable futon, where I get bitten by a spider or something in my sleep. I have a big welt on my forehead. Pooring rain in the drive up Friday, Sunday morning, fog ... like I have never seen in Arizona. Still I am home by noon. Eat some food, take a nap, feeling better, watch the Superbowl and in the 2nd quarter .... TV and sat box turn off. Power goes out to part of the house. I go and flip all the fuse switches, can't fix it. Call my stepdad who is in NYC and ask,him for advice, but he is just wasting my time, telling me stuff I already know, so I drive to Home Depot, buy some fuses, get back during half time ... it's all back on. Still, I put in the new fuses.

3rd quarter it happens again. This time for good. I have to find extension cords and run them to the kitchen, but I catch the 4th quarter. Power is still focked up on that side of the house, I dunno what it is. So I am like, this has got to be it, right?

Go back into my old stomping ground tonight. Get into a hand with a weak ace where the board is AK7Q and nobody seems to want it. A Jack comes which is a great bluff card for me. Rainbow, no flush out there, plus I really do have a pair of aces and now I tie other weak aces that had me outkicked. I shove. Two players left, one folds out of position, making it easier for the other one to call with KK, slow playing his flopped set. No joke, 2 hands later I get KK in the BB. UTG has limped, along with a couple others. I raise it from 2 to 7, knowing they will all come along. Of course there's an ace on the flop, I c bet $10, UTG calls, fold, fold. Turn is a blank, it goes check, check. I dunno what to think on the river. I dunno this guy, he could be slow playing AA like the other focking guy who slow played KK. So it goes check, check, river ... He tables A,4 offsuit and I muck my cowboys without saying a word. -$150. It's good to be home!

WTF man .... Just WTF?

It coulda been even longer. That was the longest session of the past three. Oh, and this is even better, I forgot to swipe out with my card when I left, so I didn't get any comp hours that day ... not that I have much use for TSR comp hours, but 5 bucks in comps in 5 bucks in comps.

Bitten by a damn spider on your forehead!?!?!? At least it didn't bite your eye off I guess.

Sorry to hear about the bad luck.

Yep. Drove up to Phoenix, only to lose $700, get in an argument with my best friend, and then get bitten by a spider. In that order. Drove up there in crazy rain, fortunately, I have driven a Miata before. Drove back, Sunday morning, dense fog. all that, power goes out, durimg the Superbowl .... Twice, i just wanted to watch the Superbowl, and then, another $150 loss on Monday.

God hates me.
