Rip Chris Cornell

Damn. OD? Both very solid bands. I will say that I was a little disappointed when I saw Sound Garden back together a few summers ago. Nine Inch Nails redeemed them that night though

This one came out of left field (unlike the Scott Weiland death). He had just finished a show here hours earlier...man I should've went. :(

"Struggling to process this"

"Devastated. Not sure I can make it to work today "

"Unbelievable loss. He had so much to give the world "

"I'm literally shaking right now over this"

And on and on and on.......lol

Got to see Audioslave perform live. Was a solid performance and imo a severely underrated band.

I personally don't like a lot of Soundgarden's stuff outside a couple songs.

52? Pretty sure his creativity was used up and it would just be touring at this point.

Probably wasn't coming out with another "Like a Stone" anytime soon. :dunno:

Ideally this would have happened at 27, giving him legendary status.

Very sad. This band was a huge part of my life, growing up during the grunge era. RIP one of the great rock vocalists.

Was at Lallapooloza in 1992. They had just finished playing earlier and me and some friends were waiting for the Red Hot Chili Peppers to come on. We were standing in the back of the crowd. Out of no where, Chris Cornell walks up to our group and asks what thought of the show. Two of the girls in our group started freaking out, "Oh my God...It's Chris Fawking Cornell!!!" He told them, "Hey man, relax I'm just a fan like everybody else." He hung out with us for a little while, said his goodbyes, and moved on. Cool dude. RIP.

Funny you mention LaLaPalooza 92. That was the only time I've ever seen them.

Main Stage: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ministry, Ice Cube, Soundgarden, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Pearl Jam, Lush.
Side Stage: Rage Against The Machine (Irvine Meadows), Porno for Pyros, Temple of the Dog

I don't care for the RHCP all that much, but if that's not one damn fine list of talent in one venue I don't know what is

That was a great show. I missed Pearl Jam, who was the band I really wanted to see. But I got to see them again in Houston with Pearl Jam. They were doing a tune up gig for their upcoming tours. They only did two of these shows that year. Soundgarden played first, then Pearl Jam, then they all came back and played Temple of the Dog. That show is in my top three all time. Fawkin phenomenal.

Update: He was found hung.

I assume they meant he took his own life.

Did he really commit suicide, or did he Michael Hutchence himself?
