uwmalcolm 73 Posted December 17, 2018 Rams, Saints, Pats, Chargers, and Chiefs are all better than the Seahawks. They are a well coached scrappy team with a very good QB, but the talent isn't on par with the aforementioned As a Hawks fan, I agreed with this assessment before todays pathetic performance. After today, I might add a few more teams to the list (Steelers, Bears).

Seahawks - 49ers was a wierd game. Seahawks gave up 1 touchdown on defense. Their special teams actually broke down for once and gave up a kickoff return for a TD. Then it was death-by-field-goal as the 49ers kicked 4 of them. There's not really anything to learn about this game other than don't give up kickoff returns for touchdowns. The Seahawks won almost every statistical category except the final score and penalties (which killed drives in the second half).
JustinCharge 2,397 Posted December 17, 2018 The 3rd best team in the league doesnt lose to SF. That's a fun question actually. What Super Bowl teams have a December loss against a team that finished 8-8 or worse in a meaningful game going back to 2010? 2015 Panthers lost to 8-8 Falcons on December 27th 20-13 @ Falcons 2015 Broncos lost to 7-9 Raiders on December 13th 15-12 @ Broncos 2014 Patriots lost to Bills in week 17 but Patriots had locked up #1 seed and rested Brady 2012 49ers lost to 7-8-1 Rams on December 2nd 16-13 in OT @ Rams 2012 Ravens lost to 8-8 Steelers on December 2nd 23-20 @ Ravens 2011 Giants lost to 5-11 Redskins on December 18th 23-10 @ Giants 2010 Packers lost to 6-10 Lions on December 12th 7-3 @ Lions This is actually AMAZING. 1. EVERY SINGLE LOSS was versus a divisional opponent. The Seahawks ALSO just lost to a divisional opponent in the 49ers. 2. 4 of them were by 3 points or less. So actually, we can look at the data points and say that a December intradivisional game against a bad team is EXACTLY the game a Super Bowl team loses. And usually its a close loss of 3 points or less. The data 100% refutes your statement that "the 3rd best team in the NFL doesn't lose to SF". Its quite amazing actually.
