robin williams is one of my favorites, but not going to try to persuade you guys otherwise. been watching him from his begins (early stand up at small clubs in san francisco) and found his comedy hilarious. spontaneous and cerebral. though i can see how he could come off as too manic during those coke years. loved his development as a more serious actor as well: dead poets, good will hunting, one hour photo, insomnia....

 

jeez, i just looked at his film bio. a lot of clunkers but so many very good to great films in there:
