James Jones signs with Oakland

Radiers get former Packers wideout.

The Raiders added a productive veteran to their wide receiving corps Monday with the addition of James Jones, who caught 59 passes for 817 yards last season for the Green Bay Packers.

No real improvement for Jones' fantasy value given the offense and QB situation in Oakland. He should crack the starting lineup though.

Guess he doesn't care about winning ^_^

He has won...they gave him decent money and he gets to play close to where he grew up.

James jones is not draft worthy with the raiders imo.

Borderline draft worthy with GB. I'd rather take a flyer with a youngster than go with a 30 y.o. WR5.

And this is the last thread we see with James Jones. RIP James Jones Fantasy Value....

BTW, I am a huge fan of his, but moving from GB to OAK is going to be a system shock for him.

Raiders love getting 30+ year olds in free agency. Starting to build that dynasty! :(

Borderline?

Not so much...especially knowing Cobb or Nelson have missed time.

Jones has some nice numbers the past 2 years. He was easily draftable in 12 team leagues and also 10 teamers that player 3 WRs.

Huh? Cobb and Nelson miss time and still Jones puts borderline WR4 numbers year in and out (except for 1 TD season aberration). If he is anything but a bye week filler on your team, then you have a serious problem at WR. You can do just as well on the WW.

For all the holes the Raiders have, WR isn't one of them. Moore, Holmes, and Streeter are already a fine group. Adding Jones seems a luxury.

Stone Hands + Black Hole = Fantasy Wasteland

Here is what I don't get. Last year with GB, he had 3 drops in 93 targets. There were 30 players who had 7 or more drops during the season. Jones did a lot of work to cut down on his drops, but folks still think that he is the drop monster that he was the prior 2 years.

Good point. He has improved on his craft the past couple years but after watching a bunch of Packers games in the past 5 years, I've got images of Jones & Finley dropping passes on the regular in the past.

He won't have Rodgers throwing him pin point accurate passes so the drops may increase with whomever the Raiders trot out there in 2014.
