Sooo I had this happen Friday

Recommended Posts

Im 41. 5 ft 9 180. Not obese but not cut anymore either. No real health issues.

I am out with the boy playing and I start to feel hot. So I go in and get a super cold bottle of water from the back of the fridge. The part that's coldest. I kill it in under a min for sure.

Then I get a chill. Then I get the shakes. Then my arms and legs hurt at the joints. I go take a shower and im shivering under a hot shower. For the rest of the night if my bare skin came in contact with the air I started shaking. Kept blankets on and a heating pad and it was fine the next day.

Anyone have this happen to them. Im not talking jumping in water. Im talking just drinking 20 oz of ice cold water. And I was shivering to the point of teeth chattering.

Could definitely be heat stroke. Maybe you were dehydrated also. Be careful because once you get it you are more susceptible to getting it again.

A girl I dated 38B was landscape architect. She had a kid working for her one summer. August in the south is. Rural. He was yankee here for a college. He had the same thing happen to him. His body couldn't handle the heat and then the cold water. He ended up in the ER.

if I was still feeling that way after a shower and 6 hours on a heating pad. I would have went.

I was told earlier this week not to drink cold water as fast as you can when you're hot.

Old wifes tale mebbe, I have zero idea.

Either way, at least you're still alive. Hopefully your little heat stroke will help your eyesight for future proper identification of certain avian species.

Same doosh gets bitten by a black widow. Actually, a family of them.

When I called Louisiana I Fawked up poison control, a redneck head asked me if I was able to apply pressure to the wound. Me: It's an ant bite. PC: Take two Tylenols, and punch yourself in the d!ck with a hammer.

I did.

I can relate, had the same happen to me about 5 years ago after a day of exhaustion from moving / packing in heat.

I witnessed a gunfight Friday night :dunno:

The manager pulled CMH in favor of a pinch runner at second base.

Sounds like you had a fever and chills. Did you check your temperature?

Also, you're overweight, not obese (yet).

And it definitely wasn't a heat stroke.

After reading to a few of your other stories, I've come to the conclusion that the Louisiana poison control office is staffed by the most competent government officials in the country. They're about the only people who could convince me to punch myself in the d*ck with a hammer.
