CB Bucknor - Worst umpire in the major leagues?

Recommended Posts

Yeah the Werth type calls were going on all game.

But that swing and miss / called foul was the last play of the game (or was it).

Afterwards the announcer called the game over as that ump walked away and MASN went to commercial. And I started to go pee. But next thing you know players were coming back out and the game continued. Worst I've seen in 50 years.

Yeah but he also called game over and started to walk away ... I don't know what happened when the commercial began .. but it only lasted less than half a minute and then the game was back on with the FINAL pitch coming .. which was strike 3 swinging. Thank god!

It's not even close. He's horrible. He is literally the picture of a blind ump

If he were not black he would not have his job. Period. You have to have a special protection to suck this bad and not get fired.

MLB Umpire is a better gig than being a judge.

Name a MLB umpire of any color that has ever been fired.

There were some that lost their jobs (or were not asked back) after the umpire strike/resignation on 1999

Im saying this with all seriousness, forgetting the obvious jokes. Maybe he should get his vision checked?

I agree that there very well could be something physical going on. What he is missing is not even close.

Read this today. Made me laugh

Rick Manning who calls the Indians games calls him Could Be Bucknor, because any pitch thrown could be a ball, could be a strike, you just never know with him

I know purists hate the idea of computerizing the calling of balls and strikes, but when you've got umpires no longer calling what happens, but DECIDING what happens, a serious shake up is in order.

I'm generally a baseball purists, but I am completely in favor of this. I'd even let the computer start calling strikes when whatever a batter steps out of the box to readjust his gloves for the 3rd time.

that wasn't a terrible call.

96 was the last time it was changed

1996 - The Strike Zone is expanded on the lower end, moving from the top of the knees to the bottom of the knees.

1988 - "The Strike Zone is that area over home plate the upper limit of which is a horizontal line at the midpoint between the top of the shoulders and the top of the uniform pants, and the lower level is a line at the top of the knees. The Strike Zone shall be determined from the batter's stance as the batter is prepared to swing at a pitched ball."
