what do you do here at pick 2.5?

I had the same pick in a 12-team PPR league draft last night, we start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 DEF, 1 K...I went: 1.08 - T. Richardson RB 2.05 - R. Bush RB 3.08 - V. Jackson WR 4.05 - A. Brown WR 5.08 - D. Jackson WR 6.05 - RG III (only get 1 pt per 50 yds passing in this league, so running QBs are extra valuable) 7.08 - J. Finley TE ... I like my starting lineup, but my bench is weak as a result: M. Vick (a little wary of RG III's knee), D. Woodhead (RB), B. Powell (RB), I. Redman (RB), R. Randle (WR)
  2. I have had a lot of injuries and busts (e.g. Drew Brees) in a 12-team standard scoring league. Another team has proposed the following trade to me: he gives me Adrian Peterson (MIN), Lendale White, Todd Heap, and Derek Anderson in exchange for LT and Andre Johnson. My initial reaction was definitely not, but now I am hearing that AJ may be out until week 11. I am sitting at 3-4 and out of the playoffs right now. My team is listed below - should I stick with LT or get better at the QB, RB, and TE positions. (we start 1 QB, 2RBs, 2 WR, 1 RB/WR, 1 TE, 1 K, and 1 TE): QB - Brian Griese WR - Torry Holt WR - Bernard Berrian RB - LT RB - Chester Taylor TE - D. Clark W/R - Brandon Marshall K - Rob Bironas Def - Tennessee Bench: Drew Brees (QB), Jerious Norwood (RB), Warrick Dunn (RB), Michael Bennett (RB), Sammy Morris (RB), Andre Johnson (WR) Thanks for any advice.

Sadly, the TE will have to be Roland Williams. Could also use James Mungro at RB. Ouch.

League scoring problem - take a look

Agree that bench points is an unfair tiebreaker due to bye weeks - but how is "home" team winning any more fair. Until you get to the playoffs and somebody has earned home field, it is an arbitrary designation. This has been a long running debate in our league. My preference is to 1 - use decimal scoring to minimize number of ties, 2-if a tie does occur, either a) let the tie stand (my personal preference because if two teams actually score the same amount then let them each get a half a win) or use total TDs scored as the tiebreaker. We are trying the TDs tiebreaker in my league this year because most of the league does not like ties - but we have not had any ties to break yet.

I don't have a problem with the rule you described - it actually sounds kind of cool. I just don't know of many leagues that have that rule so I am assuming most people that are speaking on this topic are not considering your scenario.

I think there might be some confusion in all of these responses. I believe anybody supportnig the request to have the commissioner switch McAllister in if Westbrook is declared are assuming this would ONLY be done before McAllister plays. Once the Saints game starts McAllister is either starting for this guy or he is not - no more changes. The people saying it should not be allowed are either jackasses or are assuming that the guy wants the commissioner to make a switch if Westbrook is out even if that decision is announced AFTER McAllister is already playing. I don't think anybody on this board is supporting the idea of switching Westbrook out for McAllister after McAllister has already started. It is only if an announcement comes out before the 1:00 games that I assume this guy wants the switch made (otherwise he is a moron). Can't we all just get along?

I love beating guys like this...they dedicate so much of their lives to fantasy football and then to still lose to somebody with a normal life must be frustrating. Mock drafting until 4am the night before your draft? I admire the dedication - but that would be too much for me.

To be fair, Family Guy itself is a shameless ripoff of various movies, TV shows, pop culture, etc. The phrase "throwing a hotdog down the hallway" was around long before Stewie said it on Family Guy. (Sorry - pet peeve of mine - Family Guy is funny sometimes, but it really does just reuse a lot of things from other shows) She is definitely a Penn Stater (i.e. nice uniform, ugly helmet)

Awesome......i didn't go to work today!

taxes on $40M would be a heck of a lot more than $15M...probably closer to $20M

    Don't rate my team...

I agree on the #2 and #3 WR - might have to hope I find someone good in free agency/waivers. As far as my backup RBs - I drafted Green and Gado. We draft 15 rounds but have 18 roster spots to fill. So I added Davenport and Norwood that way. I have since dropped Davenport for Doug Gabriel a few minutes after he was traded to NE. I actually got Palmer with the last pick in the 4th round (or first pick in the fifth - don't remember). This was back on August 12th when his injury seemed like it still might keep him from starting Week 1.

    Can Only Keep Two!

I would keep Bledsoe as well...neither guy is young, but Warner seems like more of an injury risk

    Don't rate my team...

Just wondering if anybody thinks I should try to make any moves yet (trade or waivers) or just see how the first few weeks of the season go... 12-team redraft, 1 pt per 10yds run/rec, 1 pt per 25yds pass, 6 pts per TD, plus the other usual stuff We draft 15 and then have three add'l roster spots to use QB - Carson Palmer (CIN) RB - Larry Johnson (KC) RB - Kevin Jones (DET) WR - Torry Holt (STL) WR - Braylon Edwards (CLE) WR - Reggie Brown (PHI) TE - Todd Heap (BAL) K - Shayne Graham (CIN) Def - NY GIANTS Bench QB - Michael Vick (ATL) QB - Jon Kitna (DET) RB - Ahman Green (GB) RB - Najeh Davenport (GB) RB - Samkon Gado (GB) RB - Jerious Norwood (ATL) WR - Vincent Jackson (SD) WR - Ashley Lelie (ATL) WR - Troy Williamson (MIN)

Need opinions - trade was vetoed

Me thinks you got screwed. Good luck with that. I agree it could end up screwing me, but I figure at 3 -4 I might as well take a gamble. Plummer is too erratic, so I am hoping for some consistent QB production from Manning - nothing like last year, but better than Plummer has given me. Losing Harrison is offset by the fact that I get the guy throwing to him. I don't like losing Willie Parker, but sometimes you gotta give up at one position to gain in another. Thanks for the feedback.

Need opinions - trade was vetoed

Thanks for all the feedback everybody - I am actually Team B and both I and the Team A owner continued to press our points with the commissioner. He finally came around and agreed just because he thought it was a bad trade for Team A, it was a fair enough trade that nothing sketchy is going on and approved the trade. Also, we did a league vote and it was inconclusive (some people did not vote, some were undecided). Anyway, I got Manning and no longer need to ride the Jake Plummer roller coaster each week (although with the Colts on bye this week I have to choose between McClown and Gar-she-a). Good luck to all in Week 8
