So, we're going to Manhattan this weekend...

Thanks for the recs. Wife and daughter definitely want the Met, as do I. I proposed MOMA and got shot down. Besides, the Met and Natural History are more than enough traditional museums for such a trip. I'm hoping we can mix those two with some nice weather so we can walk there through Central Park. We did the bike around the park last time, which was fun. Washington Square Park is by NYU, no bueno, see my OP. Our Tommy show is at 2PM, prolly too early for dinner right after. We are generally early eaters, but with the time change we probably will stick on somewhat of our original time zones, since NY is a later kinda place.

No. We plan on renting a car just for two days to take out of the city. Which reminds me, I should look into that.

Wow, this is incredibly uninformed. Communism is deeply tied to the anti-fascist movement. Simple Google search: https://www.google.com/search?q=is+antifa+marxist&oq=is+antifa+marxist&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUyBggAEEUYOTIHCAEQIRiPAtIBCDM4MTdqMGo0qAIAsAIA&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#ip=1 From the Time interview in the link: Or pick just about any article from that search.
  5. ... to visit our daughter, haven't seen her since Christmas, we are very excited! Planning to do some touristy things: the Met, maybe Natural History Museum, Ellis Island. Got tickets to a matinee of Tommy the Musical. She lives really close to Yankee Stadium, but I don't think it'll work out to catch a game. Also renting a car for two days to go to PA and visit some family. Does anyone know where I can find an up to date map of where Hamas terrorist loving rioters are hanging out? I'd just as well avoid them. Staying near Columbus Circle, it looks like Fordham is nearby. Does Fordham love terrorists these days? TIA$#@!

You know nothing about Marxism. Let's start with its opposition to the nuclear family, which you objected to in Fireballer's post: https://www.studysmarter.co.uk/explanations/social-studies/families-and-households/marxist-perspectives/#:~:text=Marxists see the role and, could pass down private property. This is seen by the progressive push in the past 60 years to laud single parents, divorce for the slightest unhappiness, polygamy, alternate sexuality. HTH, but I somehow doubt it.

Sounds mostly peaceful. We should leave them all there, like the Summer of Love. That's what a thoughtful poster like Tim would recommend.

Oh I see, you are questioning the Pelosi part. Way to win, squistion lite!

Maybe read the thread first, instead of just jumping in?

My daughter lives a train stop south of the Columbia Med School near Washington Heights; the main campus is a ways south, where Central Park starts. Her roommate goes to the med school (for physical therapy, not a doc) and onsite classes were cancelled today even up there. Unknown about tomorrow. She was on her way home when my wife talked to her and will find out more.

Well, we know #1, 5, 6, and 7 to be true, and their are parts of the others with truths.

Good to know that you recognize the committee was not a fact-finding effort, but rather a banana republic proceeding. We need a trial to figure out what they are hiding? I don't even know what to say to that.

Amazing. Your quoted part was my summary of this from the article: This should be easy enough to confirm with Miller. And the SecDef, along with Secretary of the Army (who we discussed earlier), are the delegated people who can call the NG. One would presume that, were Trump himself to do it, he would go through one of these people like his staff did, unless you believe he has a bat phone directly to the head of the NG. Also, perhaps Trump thought it was his protesters that needed protection. That doesn't mean that if the NG were there, it wouldn't have dissuaded the riot, and had the riot started anyway, they would have been there to squelch it (unless you think they'd have joined in, which would be laughable). The Feds had infiltrated these groups. I'm not getting into to what extent they may have goaded on the riot, but they certainly knew it was more than possible that something would happen. And yet no troops were deployed, and it wasn't because of Trump. It saddens me that so many Americans like yourself don't have all kinds of problems with this, and instead think it is perfectly acceptable for the 1/6 committee to just issue an 11 minute curated video and conclude "orange man bad" without doing their alleged job.
