Cardinals OC relieved of duties

Recommended Posts

Hefty Leftwich to take over as OC. McCoy not announced as fired but "relieved".

I'm sure it's the AZ fans who are actually relieved.

Leftwich is a product and a left over coach of Arians era. With a rookie QB, I don't see a lot of changes to the scheme taking place. He'll probably implement a few more vertical routes for the WR's and should know how utilize DJ a bit better. I could see DJ getting a bit of a bump in production, but this team is still garbage.

Rotoworld now reporting McCoy is gone...fired.

The admin staff was probably working on the termination papers at half-time.

Don't know if I've ever seen a team take a timeout on the 2nd play of the game, and then immediately throw a pick-six.

Actually I'm somewhat excited about this.

While Leftwich didnt make it work in the NFL, it wasnt because of his lack of knowledge or leadership. it was that slow release on the throws.

This could, potentially be a good move.

I had no idea Leftwich was a coach. I am going to be very interested to see how this plays out

WOW. That's a blast from the past.

Oh, the man crush I had on lefty coming out of college.

Never panned out like I thought it would. But hopefully this is the start of a successful coordinator/coaching career in phase 2 of his life.

Except against Seattle of course.

Good luck lord byron.

Hopefully they'll find some creative ways to use David Johnson now.

New David Johnson gameplan :pointstosky:

.

I will never forget the game where he played on a broken leg, and his linemen carried him down the field on the winning drive.

I’m shocked that a guy who was fired midseason last year wasnt good enough this year. How can GMs be this bad?

So many teams/owners/GM's are terribly afraid of "new". They think it's safer to recycle old, used up trash. Fortune favors the bold. McVay in LA is a prime example. Bring in the guy, let him do it his way and get out of the way. Conversely, I liked what the Cowboys did years ago with Jason Garrett. The problem is that now, years later, he's proven that it wasn't the right choice, but that's in large part because he is just a puppet to Jerry Jones. I'll take my chances all day long on an innovative forward thinker over a Jeff Fisher clone.

Can he clone himself a few times, and block?

Because that is the single most important missing ingredient...............

Here's a creative way. Get him out in space.

Like maybe handing him the ball.

Or maybe he was being a big baby and someone else wouldn't have needed to be carried.
