Cant wait for the draft, then I dont think about Football till camp

Recommended Posts

I guess I'm a true loser. I take January off, maybe even February, then I start thining of the NFL draft. That continues for a little bit after and then I get another small break. For me, FF season starts June first. I start doing a few mocks and start preparing lists. Slowly at first, but it builds. By mid to late July it's on! And it doesn't stop till Christmas.

I know what you mean... you have to break from it. I mean really break from it for at least a month.

I don't break at all. Ever. Not in January (plenty of people sick of underperformers might sell low?) or Feb or March or April. Not on vacation. Not at weddings. It's a non detrimental to my health compulsive addiction or sickness that I enjoy. Immensely. What else would fill up so many seconds or minutes of waiting for an elevator or store to open or whatever? Some people play games with angry birds, some people check the weather. I check ff sites, all the time, every day, the whole year. All in a constant, deliberate, consistent effort to find out some bit of news or glean some bit of advantage from some minor scouting report that some prospect just might actually indeed turn into the next Calvin Johnson. And I know about them before anyone else. Or maybe one day in July when people around me are eating kickass bbq I made and chilling with beer I'll sneak off for a few uninterrupted minutes of mobile ff hotspotting and figure out the path to the draft pick that ends up being the next Mega. Or maybe a bust. Rinse and repeat. My leagues are fun as hell with active and interesting owners who rate at the top end of the spectrum ff competition wise imho. Play in some of my leagues and ya almost half to pay serious attention all year long if you want to get a jump on the field.

I take a break from the Super Bowl to the combine. That's it. Almost 365 days a year.

I wish I could take a break, but my mind won't let me. Why take a break from the best sport and hobby known to man!

I used to look forward to the draft, our FF league would have an all day/night draft party. We had a pool where we would list our first round draft choices and we would pick the draft order for our FF draft. The NFL changed all that with their quest for ratings and money. I don't watch the draft anymore.

I say I will take a break.. we will see. I was so pleased on how my draft went last year that I am excited to see how it will go this year. Kept 2 WR's which I have never done before and I almost won it all. Got Murray in the 3rd, CJ1 in the 4tth and Gore in the 5th.... picked up some other important pieces thru the WW and it was a great season. Romo was QB picked in the 7th round I think. You can win not taking your 1st RB till the 3rd round. The key is to grab 5 or 6 and 2 should work out

I love the draft and guessing what teams will do... usually wrong but the year dallas grabbed dez I was right. Sitting with a few buds knowing the pats like to collect draft picks I said.. Dallas will move up and get Dez... and they did. That was a great move, Dez has been as advertised

BTW... Murray, CJ and Gore where great together. If I remember correctly Murray was pretty steady minus the 2 games he missed, and Gore was great the 1st half of the season and CJ was his usual great the 2nd half.

that really depends on how the other teams draft imo .
