Pretty interesting article.

Unrelated note, I was reading earlier this morning that we created an entirely new class of whoareship. It's about 4 billion dollars a pop. But the ammunition required for the guns on the ship? Runs about a million dollars around to Simply go 60 miles inland. For those of you playing the home game, a cruise missile which can be fired from a lot further away at a lot less risk? Runs between 1000000 and 1.5 million. This ship, the Zumwalt, will probably never see any kind of action Beyond the recruiting poster.

Oh, and we're currently working on creating two more of these four billion dollar warthips. While we get ready to send the first one back to dry dock for retrofitting.

amazing.

I don't normally correct typos in others considering how often I make them myself, but seeing warship mis-spelled as worship was rough, when you did it twice, eh, figured I'd say something.

I'll be back for regular commentary, let me go read the article you linked to now.

I've known this for a long time. We flush, nay, hemorrhage money down the Middle East toilet for no reason.

Playing world police is why we can't have the nice things on Newsweek's list, or a balanced budget, or a tax cut or whatever it is you'd prefer be done with the savings.
