Question from a Newbie

Recommended Posts

I have just installed draft buddy for the first time and am thrilled that I bought this product. I am not having any trouble so far except, I can't get the sounds to work? Does anybody have any suggestions? I confess that I am not the computer literate person in the world.

Hi drmcpa. Thanks, and welcome aboard! Hmm... are you on Windows or a Mac? It won't work on a Mac unfortunately, but it should tell you as much. Check the volume on your computer and/or speakers is turned up to a reasonable level. Does it appear to play (i.e. you're not getting an error message when you hit "Play")?

Check and make sure the sound files are there. If you downloaded and installed from the .exe version they should be in the directory:

/Program Files/Cheatsheet Compiler/sounds/

Do any of those suggestions help?

Thanx for getting back to me. I have windows. When I try to use on of the sounds it just makes a thump sound not an error message. I will try your other suggestion.

Also, I set up the draft buddy to try out a mock draft to practice using the compiler and I noticeed on the summary page the defensive are showing the wrong bye week. The same incorrect bye will show up on the draft order list. However, the correct bye weeks are showing up on the cheat sheets. Is this something that can be fixed.

PS... I am so ecstatic about this program, that I want to proclaim it from the rooftops but I'm afraid someone in my league will find out. Do you know of any hood or shroud that I can place over my laptop on draft day to protect my secret?

Oh man :D All right, I'll check into that bye week issue. Thought I had them all updated, but if not I will push out a new version ASAP. Sorry. Thanks for the heads up!

Hood and shroud? You could cover it with the official FF Today Compiler fleece blanket. It includes a large FF Today logo across it. Think that will work? :D

Hi fecr. I've been waiting for the board to come back online so I'm not even sure if you can read this, but if so, email me at compiler@fftoday.com and we'll try to figure this out.

Mike I figured out what the problem was with the sounds. The compiler and draft buddy were located in a folder that also had the sounds. I was simply saving the compiler to my flashdrive and moving it to my laptop. The sounds were not with it. I simply copied over the entire folder with the sounds to my flashdrive and voila it works.

Right. I'll have to remember that when people tell me the sounds aren't working. Thanks.
