So this is obviously after week 4 (Denver's bye week) but am I crazy to think about offering this trade. Standard scoring 2 RB, 2 WR, RB/WR start.

 

My Team

QB - Rodgers

RB - Ball, Lacy, Vereen, Ridley, Sankey (hoping to drop and add Hill)

WR - Harvin, Michael Floyd, Wallace, Benjamin, Gordon

TE - Thomas, Gates

 

His Team

QB - P. Manning

RB - Gore, Sproles, Ivory, Ingram

WR - Nelson, Vincent Jackson, Welker, Sanders, Josh Brown

TE - Gresham, Reed

 

Trade Rodgers and Gates for Manning? Manning would be done with his bye week and I pair him with Thomas the rest of the way. He would also then be able to pair Rodgers and Nelson. Or do I try to get Nelson for Gates and Floyd/Wallace or a RB? That would leave me with Packers at QB, RB, and WR. Their schedule is pretty decent. I might even be willing to deal Thomas for the right price.

Between Manning and Nelson - I'd rather have Nelson, for the FF playoff weeks. So, first decide who you want. If Nelson - send an inquiry to the other Team Owner, and see what he comes back with / who he wants from you.

Personally I have always had better luck when I do not own multiple players from the same team. But between the two choices, I would probably go for the GB players for what Bills04 said, because you know the broncos starters have the better chance of sitting the last few weeks.

Same. stay green bay, maybe try to get nelson. But I think later in the season GB starters will still be playing 100% as opposed to the broncos.

I'd rather have Nelson over Manning as well. I'd say you won the trade if you can turn Gates into Jordy Nelson.

The only way you have a shot at Nelson is if you are willing to give up Thomas.

Not sure I'd trade Rodgers for Manning. i'd hold on him and try get Nelson - in general i am not a huge fan of pairing since a down day for the QB is double the hit but in GB's case thats unlikely - the upside there is way more than the downside - i've lost many a fantasy matchup due to that combo. If you could trade Nelson for Gates that would be a steal - my sense is you may need to give up Thomas for that but if Gates keeps going like he is that may not be a bad deal, although i see him slowing down the next few weeks. See how he does this week.

I'd go for Nelson as well, He's Rodgers go to guy, I have Thomas as well and Manning does like to spread the ball around. Rodgers does too, but Nelson just seems to get more looks. I have Rodgers and would love to get that duo going. Thanks for your input on my topic.

Gates and Harvin for Nelson. Harvin is a stud but he's injury prone. You don't need Gates, and frankly, I think his production will slow down. If you could get Nelson out of him for those two, you'd be sitting pretty.

 

I DO think Manning is an upgrade over Rodgers though. I like Rodgers, but the Broncos are just a better team with more weapons.

I don't see the upgrade of Manning over Rodgers, what maybe 2-3 points a game. Not worth it to me. Upgrading to someone like Jordy Nelson would solidify your WR corp. I would do that.
