Oof epic fail. He had multiple runs of 10+ before that and they were driving to ice the game. That run at the end was his 2nd big run.

Wearing down a defense over the course of a game is the whole point of the running game. The rookie had 127 his first game and 21 ppr points. Can't you just say "good job kid" and move on? Yes saints suck, he still did it.

we frequently say "why did they give up the run" when team/players are not effective (and cook was not until the second half). the passing game allowed for min to keep trying. i also noticed that cook started getting larger runs around the corner vs the interior. this was a fine takeaway from game one.... he was unimpressive early, but as NOS d started to wear down, he was able to take advantage. despite his 127, i give him a B- for the game.
