Here's a China pizza story for you.

 

So I don't like pineapple on my pizza. I love pineapple, I bought some myself and it's downstairs right now, I just don't like it on a pizza. Just meats and vegetables and mushrooms that's OK. Unfortunately my wife likes pineapple on pizza and so I've eaten way more of it than I would otherwise. But that's a tangent.

 

Now China has all these wacko pizzas, weird ingredients, some that I don't recognize, I couldn't tell you what it is, blasphemy non-identifiable-as-pizza pizzas, and not a lot of vegetable options. What's on the menu sucks, I have to ask for custom made pizza with vegetables.

 

. For years and years in China, I'm avoiding these wack-pizzas and when I do have one, it's awful.

 

So I was teaching this on-on-one class and the student brings in a fruit pizza, wants to share it with me. I'm thinking "Oh, good grief, no." Now since I don't like pineapple on the pizza, I don't want to eat this fruit pizza. No vegetable? No meat? Get that thing out of here. But of course, I'll be polite and have a piece first.

 

Well, wouldn't you know it was really good! It wasn't a dinner food, no, but is tasted great and like something I might enjoy for breakfast.

 

So, uh, now I like fruit pizza.

Landing strip or nacho chip is fine, as long as it is trimmed and shaved back away from the promised land. Bare works as well.
