Djgb13 2,338 Posted October 23, 2016 Wow what a waste of the clock management on Pitt. They essentially killed their chances by not calling a timeout

weepaws 2,459 Posted October 23, 2016 Once again showing why he's over rated.
murf74 461 Posted October 24, 2016 Once again showing why he's over rated. I see it every week. 56 yard FG on 4th and short?
weepaws 2,459 Posted October 24, 2016 At home. You would know this more then I do. How many 55 plus yard fg have even been made at that stadium? Go for it.
Djgb13 2,338 Posted October 24, 2016 Tomlin just doesn't need to be a head coach. That is too much for him and he chokes more than a 14 year old girl giving head for the first time
TD Ryan2 314 Posted October 24, 2016 NE (Bill Belichick) just has a knack for putting their opponents in difficult positions. PIT controlled the 2nd and 3rd Qtrs. Yet the 4th Qtr rolls around and PIT is down 2 scores, fighting the clock, with only 1 time out and Belichick is, "Check".... "Check".... "Checkmate". Tomlin didn't have his team prepared for any real "hurry up" at the end. Down 2 scores with 8 minutes left and PIT really didn't have much of a chance... all the pressure was on them.... and then every little problem only magnifies the difficulty, from A Brown getting hurt to the endless false starts and OPIs. Belichick put a mediocre coach and a backup QB in a pressure cooker that was coming apart at the seams.

Belichick put a mediocre coach and a backup QB in a pressure cooker that was coming apart at the seams. Landry didn't do a terrible job, the problem is the damned defense, and Tomlin. The reality is that the Steelers are really banged up on both sides of the ball. D-Line, O-line, secondary, WR and QB. For all the "big balls" talk of Tomlin going for it around the goal line and on 2 pt conversions, his game management is horrificient the rest of the time. Belichick is a master at taking away your offenses biggest strength and really wasn't able to do so as Bell was still carving them up. That 50+ yd punt is pvssy stuff. You want to show you have big balls, go for it right there. You want to play conservative, put it away and make them drive the field. You want to give them ball AND momentum? Do what you did, make your kicker try to hit an improbable distance kick in the hardest place to kick in the NFL.

It will play solid defense against a tough opponent while the offense struggles. Once the offense puts up some points, they relax. If you relax against New England's offense, they will do what they did: walk down the field and score like a hot knife through butter.
weepaws 2,459 Posted October 24, 2016 All about coaching. Amd I think he's one of if not the most over rated in the NFL.
