Biggest busts so far?

Recommended Posts

7 weeks into the season, who do you think are the biggest *non-injury related* busts so far?

As a disgruntled Allen Robinson owner I nominate this POS. I've been getting better production from waiver wire WRs than my 2nd round pick.

Too many bust this year to even list...

Bortles, Jeffery, and Hopkins all have to be up there. And, sadly, I have them - heavily invested in Jeffery. That sucks.

Gurley's another. The lack of yardage is one thing, the lack of TDs is killer.

Charles, who thought 7 weeks in, we'd have nothing? Bad.

Arob here too...such regret drafting him when I did, even more not taking jstew in trade for him this week as I hoped he would break out vs oak lands porous secondary

This is the Allen Robinson post. He has an unpredictable and horrifying floor nowadays and hasn't sniffed his perceived ceiling this year. I'd say it's on Bortles but he's dropping stuff too.

Gurley's situation is rough too.

Seeing Zeke and David Johnson run should make us all lament not having those guys as top 3 picks, but there was enough reasons to be scurred.

Beckham on one team.

And Robinson on another.

And Cooper as been another disappointment to me so far.

Jamal Charles is a bad situation too because we all thought we were smart as a community. He was faded but no one was too upset when he was getting picked at the beginning of the 3rd round by someone who felt like waiting on him to show up. Some folks were assuming he'd be getting his feet wet for the first month before showing up right around now to at least get a piece of Andy and Alex's conservative machine.

Hell, I tried to trade for him about a month in. Andy and Jamaal held hands and lied like crazy. 100%. Ready to roll. No restrictions.

But no. He's doing fake actives in week 7 and Ware is the only thing stopping Crowell and CMike from being the late round rb gem of most drafts.

For some reason, Cooper shenanigans don't bother me as much. It's like I paired him with my mancrush (Marvin Jones) and just assumed that they'd take turns being awesome.

I don't love that Crabs is playing so well on the same field, but what are we gonna do...bench Cooper when he plays press coverage teams with good corners?

Bortles, therefore, ARob.

3 drops today. Allen Robinson is a mess right now with or without Bortles sucking it up.

I had Floyd ranked a lot higher than I should have. :(

Me too. I didn't 'love' him but I thought I had done well to end up with him.

Floyd 'fell' to me in the 7th and I was almost overwhelmed by my brilliance/luck combo when I picked him. John brown was hurt and Larry was hurt AND old. Oops. He was off my team 2-3 weeks into the season. He's already been picked up and dropped since then. After he has a good game, he'll be scooped again.

There were enough reasons to be scared of Djohns? I guess I missed all of those.

Clearly the concerns were overblown and in some cases crazy wrong, but it isn't like folks we're going around saying take DJ #1.

Folks were talking about his limited body of work and the existence of Chris Johnson. Cj Anderson was referenced. There was also fear of the Cards regressing a bit with Palmer looking more like bad Palmer at the end of last year and in preseason. Also, 2 of their 3 best WRs were hurt all preseason. Also, he had a couple rough games last year and folks were highlighting those too. So yeah...there was some concern even though he's obviously a monster when he gets anything resembling decent opportunities.

I had him as a top 5 rb, but I had Brown, obj, Julio, and AJ ahead of him too.

I ended up with Arob as my second receiver and my top 3 RBs of Doug Martin, Eddie Lacy, and Jeremy Langford. Take your focking pick of those guys.

I heard and read a number of people, not the zero RB folks of course, advocating DJ as one of a possible couple of #1 candidates. But I don't read everything everywhere, of course.

Russell Wilson has been a bust, IMO. He was my 2nd round pick.

Luckily, my 1st and 3rd round picks were David Johnson and LeSean McCoy.

But the QB position has not been helping me this year.

my vote is for allen robinson too. picked him with my second pick and he's killing me.

watched their game with oakland and bortles was all over the place (overthrows and underthrows). One of the passes

to arob was low so he went down to get it and it bounced off his hands into the defender who intercepted it!

i just dont see him getting any separation. that teamed with bortles spraying the ball around means no points.

unfortunately, he's on the no cut list or i'd drop him.

i guess it proves that you cant always trust last years stats. is there any way of identifying such busts before the season?

Why did you take Wilson in the 2nd round?

Why did you take Wilson in the 2nd round?

I was 3rd out of 14, in a snake draft.

Cam and Rodgers were gone by the time it got back to me. Thought it would be a good idea to grab a (top tier) QB in the 2nd or 3rd round, because it would be a long time before it got back to me in the 4th.

After the way Wilson finished last year, he was definitely a top tier QB. Seemed like a decent pick at the time.

I got Allen Robinson two weeks in a row sucking it up. Seriously by watching him these past two games, he looks like he's never played before. Balls bouncing off his chest, etc. He's bad, how long do I play him yet?

Robsinon is killing me too. Him along with Alshon Jeffrey. Went WR heavy since everyone else was going RB heavy. It wouldn't be so bad if they at least put up 8 point but Jesus combined they have less than 4

I took DJ @ 4 and I would have taken him @ 2 only behind Brown. Was very bullish on him. Had the 12 spot in my other draft and went ARob/Bell.

ARob hasn't really killed me yet, but he will over the byes when margins for error get much tighter. I guess I'm hoping for second half of season figurative garbage time production from him.

My DND (above average possibility of bust) of Round 1/2 guys list hasn't been too far wrong - Alshon, Dez, Watkins

On the next tier down are guys like CJ, Rawls, DThomas, Newton for the most part, Lat Murray, Baldwin, Maclin, J Matthews, Palmer. Some of those names were injuries, but they were heading for Bustville anyway.

I always draft my QB in rd 5 or later. For this exact reason.

My 2nd and 4th rd picks were ARob and Jeffery.

yeah that blows but not a whole lot you can really do about that.

I'd have been stoked myself if I had those picks right after my draft.

Trade Jamaal Charles and Sterling Shephard for Allen Robinson?

I still would.

Pretty low risk, but very high potential reward.

Gurley has been disappointing, but bad enough for bust status?

I would say so considering where he was picked, but especially if you took him over Zeke or DJ like many did.
