the current run up doesn't point to fomo at all. At least not yet. Now, what we saw around the holidays was pure fomo and not remotely sustainable.

I'm thankful my 3rd short term ETH buy is back near even (my first two made money) and my original long term ETH buy is back to looking much better. Its natural to wish you bought a week ago, but you're always going to wish you bought in sooner or added to your position sooner.

Hell, I still kick myself for not grabbing ETH at ~$50. THAT could have rode fomo to about 270k  . I knew about ETH, didn't believe in all that crypto = steam engine mensa nonsense but i'm a gambler and not at all above investing 10k on something I think might have hype traction.

Crypto = steam engine Mensa nonsense?

Billions in cryptocurrency wealth wiped out after hack

A cyberheist at a little-known virtual currency exchange helped wipe billions of dollars off the value of bitcoin and other digital currencies.

The price of bitcoin slumped more than 7% after South Korea's Coinrail announced that it had been targeted by cyberthieves. In a statement Monday, the exchange said that it had a suffered a security breach in which hackers stole about 30% of its virtual currencies.

I thought one of the best parts of block-chain was the ability to see and know the entire history of the financial record. So how does something like this happen?

They are saying its not a big deal, as it is only a paper loss, and they'll earn it back in coming months.

Carvana at 43.50 today. I bought at 10ish and sold at 22, looks like it's doubled in the last 3 months. Wow.

They are popping up all over the US right now. Just saw one built in DT Orlando not to long ago. I'm going to be holding this one for the next 3-5 years to see what happens.

Yeah, makes sense. I turn 5 coins at $7500 into $1.25 million in 4 years.

The easy money on this garbage has already been made.

Wrong.

Microsoft was already an established tech company in 1986 when it went public @ $21 per share. Which if you held just one share since the original IPO it would be worth 7k+. You aren't going to get 1,000% overnight (well rarely unless you stick a really good ICO) but over the course of 5-10 years that is definite possibility.

We are still at the tip of the iceberg with cryptos.

Good luck, hope you cash out big. I got hit up with life and needed to cash out when I did(swear to Christ I've bought my dentist a new car the last couple of years).

Had things gone differently, I think I would probably have sold once it hit 40. Still, made money, so thanks again for the tip.

ETA: Having lived in Orlando for 6 years, yeah that's what they need, more cars.

Funny this thread was bumped today. I have not read one word of this 72 pages.

This morning my son told me he was investing few hundred dollars in this as the price has dropped.

Is he wasting his $$. ??

Give it 10 years and it will be worth something.

Of its usage and popularity? I might believe that.

Of its value? No. I don't even know where to begin to explain why (in my mind) it can't sustain prices at "X" (X being some number that makes the current prices only "the tip of the iceberg")
