Not when the double play would have ended the inning as it would have in Zero's scenario...

I didnt research the scenario, but you get the point.

In case you missed it, Former Detroit Tigers stars Jack Morris and Alan Trammell were elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame on Sunday by the Modern Era Baseball committee.

The 1984 Tigers hold a spot near and dear to my heart, but I agree with this in general. Baseball HOF is a joke. All that being said, you could make an argument for either based on who is already in.

People talk about Jack Morris winning more games than any other pitcher in the 1980's without mentioning he also had the most losses in the 1980s too. Trammell's numbers are pretty pedestrian too. Neither one is a HOF'er in my mind.

My criteria is simple. I ask you is <insert player name here> a HOF'er? If your answer isn't an immediate "Yes" then almost certainly he shouldn't be one. if you gotta make an argument (including comparing to others already in), then they aren't a HOF'er either.

Trammell and Morris both belong in the HOF

They where some of the best players in the 80s. When you say pedestrian who are you comparing them to? probably the crop of SS that came after him which isn't fair. In fact not only do those two belong, but Lou Whitaker is more deserving than both of them.

Well, now that Trammell is in, Mattingly should be getting in as well. The numbers are blatantly better.

I agree Whitaker should have gone in before Trammell or Morris.

I also said that the baseball HOF is a joke and compared to who is already in that you could argue Trammell or Morris getting in for sure.

Next year the great Mariano Rivera is eligible. It should be the first unanimous vote, and they should let him go in alone.

Should be. Would love to hear the reason some a-hole won't vote for him.

I don't know... As someone mentioned before, if they aren't a HOF in year one, why in year ten? What changed? His stats hadn't...

Just looking at his numbers, nothing really jumps out at me saying that he should be in the Hall and I don't think his post-season numbers is enough to push him in...

guy died with drugs in his systems 4 years after he last played

I dont really see where that really has anything to do with his accomplishments

I get it but MLB and media LOVED Big Papi. Don't see him not getting in. And Edgar was a huge clutch hitter.

..

I get this argument but also has to do with the draft class.

Guerrero's stats didn't get better from last year either.

Writers want some players to wait it out.
