I have a problem with we wish you a merry Christmas.

We wont go until we get some? Sounds pretty rapey too.

I have a problem with the song that says mom and dad are happy the kids are back in school.

Seriously though, feminists are such bullcrap. If you read their thing on this, its a bunch of stuff about how exhausting it is to be in that situation, and no means no until they talk you into a yes bull crap.

First off, the song is about her not really wanting to go, but feeling that she should, probably due to mid 40s social mores. Projecting 2017 wackadoo feminist dogma to it doesnt really make sense.

Secondly, how weak are women? You cant try to talk a woman into staying now without it being coercive? Hell, he was mainly trying to keep the dumb b!tch from freezing to death when she couldnt find a cab.

Women will soon rule the world...and they will use the power of the poosay to get it.

This is exactly why I'm starting a nationwide movement called, "Stay limp." We need the power back.

"Hey what's in this drink?" & "Baby don't hold out" combined with the repeated asking to stay is what makes the song open for criticism.

Obviously they're reading into it too much. Alcohol has been used forever to lower the defenses (inhibitions, sensibilty, etc) of people you want to bang. The critics are assuming there's a roofie or something other than booze in the drink.

Women hold out on sex to get the ring otherwise men would gladly plow as many as they can.

Nah. Its never been easier in the history of the world to get laid than today.

Plus, sex robots are on the way.

I would say there is some suspect motivations in there...but with everything else going on THIS is a thing? Again, these nuts just fail to realize when you go too far, people start tuning you out. For crying out loud some woman is tying to get sleeping beauty banned. It's just so silly.

as stated earlier, it was a early 20s song, during prohibition and the line hey whats in this drink was a common one due to the lack of access to liquor.

The song is more about a moral dilemma of a young woman wanting to stay but worried about what her peers will think

Problem is, all it takes is one crazy woman to accuse you of rape and you could be focked (figuratively). I can't even imagine trying to explain that one to friends/family/employees.

I've been hearing people say that song is rapey for many years. The current environment just means those that think the anti-rape movement has gone too far are more likely to get upset about the same claim they laughed off in years past.

Its a dude trying to get a woman to have sex with him. Apparently that constitutes assault now

Apparently you are supposed to meekly ask, I would like to engage in sexual Congress, if that is all right with you.

If she says anything but yes, leave immediately and flagellate yourself.

Sounds about right, although I think you may be required to flagellate yourself in front of her and anyone else who may have witness the horrific unwanted act of sexual aggression.

Im guessing the percentage of feminists who actually find this song offensive is infinitely small. Seems to me USA Today is blowing up a straw man here so the readership can all roll their eyes and say See? This me too crap is out of control!

Oh there is click bait motivation there for sure...of course there is. USA Today is no different than any other publisher in the digital age. Clicks = $$

Still a very appropriate discussion topic for this place.

The topic of discussion predictably being that this is yet another example of out of control feminism, just like women complaining about workplace harassment.

It's working.

In the same way that using Westboro Baptist to make a point that religious people are hateful works - it may be effective but its intellectually dishonest.

No kidding, I was actually going to do a thread on this about 3 weeks ago. It was so obvious to see this one coming.

God I hate this world.

In other news, white Christmas is racist.

We're tearing down white men right now. We'll have to get to rap at a later date.

If you actually listen to the lyrics, it's all about the interplay and the sexual banter. At one point the female lead sings something like

at least I'm going to tell them I tried.

That plays right into what's been going on for decades if not centuries. The girl wants to feel conquested. She wants to make the guy work for it a little bit. It may sound rapey these days, but we've all been there. The girl doesn't want to feel like I slept, wants to say that she put up the good fight yada yada yada but eventually gave in.

In other news, white Christmas is racist.

https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/university-college-london-in-white-campus-row-pgvnnl9th

University College London has apologised after sending a tweet asking students if they were “dreaming of a white campus” when snow fell in the capital over the weekend.

Twitter users accused it of leaving itself open to accusations of racism.

The message was part of an announcement that its facilities were open despite the chance of snow, but UCL quickly backtracked over what it called a poorly chosen reference to Bing Crosby’s festive classic, White Christmas, and said sorry.

until then...

http://uproxx.com/webculture/50-absurd-rape-lyrics/

“I had to rape his b*tch cause the hoe was stacked

I f*cked her from the back, with my gun to her back

I left up out his crib, with dolla and purple hat”

just a touch of subtle rapeyness

Middle aged white men if you please. Younger ones have already been neutered. They are having a harder time converting us though

Snowflakes doing what snowflakes do.

Sadly though they're being programmed / manipulated to destroy America, stories like this are evidence.
