Cortez Kennedy dead at 48

Recommended Posts

A Hall of Famer not only in football, but in real life as well, he will be sorely missed by those who loved and admired him - who are legion, and include me. :(

Great sadness on the passing of my friend Cortez Kennedy. A real gentle giant, great football player, better person! Loved by everyone. RIP!

A terrible day, RIP to a close friend and great mentor Cortez Kennedy. My heart goes out to his family and friends.

Sad to hear.

He was a very underrated player.

One of the best defensive players of the past 25 years at an absolutely vital position.

Another noteworthy tribute to Tez - this one from Clare Farnsworth (who worked tirelessly to get Kennedy into the HoF), who is a Seattle legend in his own right. The following quote exhibits one of the reasons why Cortez had such a devoted following - he was devoted to Seattle and its people:

"...There was the attempted move of the franchise to Southern California in 1996, when Cortez refused to take part in the offseason program in Anaheim because he had signed his contract with the Seattle Seahawks..."

Praying that he was indeed devoted to the truth and the way and the life.

I'm praying for his salvation.

Praying for the Holy Spirit to bring joy to his family and friends in this time of weeping.

I'm truly praying that this man knew the Son who is the mediator to the Father.

May he truly rest in peace. Amen

2 Thessalonians 3:16.

How did he die?

Haven't heard anything yet. They initial claim was that nothing looked out of the orinary or suspicious.
