Death Pool Update - Charles Manson

Recommended Posts

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/2017/11/15/mass-killer-charles-manson-reportedly-gravely-ill/868963001/

Charles Manson, one of America's most infamous mass killers whose 1960s cult led his followers down a path of murder, anarchy and "helter skelter," is gravely ill at a California hospital, according to published reports.

The 83-year-old inmate, serving multiple life sentences at a prison in Corcoran, Calif., has struggled with gastrointestinal problems and been shuttled back and forth to hospitals in recent years. TMZ reports that he was brought to a Bakersfield hospital three days ago and is facing life-threatening ailments.

We won't miss you.

That or making sure people gravely injured during violent acts are 100% healthy before you sentence them to death.

I don't know where this notion that people are denied essential medical care came from. It's just not true. There are laws against it actually. It's the same as people saying there are people starving in America. No there isn't.

He should have been dead a long time ago. He needs to be happy he did not do this in a non hippy state. Texas would have killed him twice. Ohio would have only did it once but they would have the procedure up using horse chemicals. Ga would have bolted him into into old sparky and fried him like a pickle. Alabama too.

Yes. They are. Ive seen it personally.

You go to the er, they are required to stabilize you and kick you out. Thats it. They are not required to actually treat the problem in any way.

My ex wife had several heart attacks. She went to the er. They would give her a nitro tablet, tell her she really needed to have her aortic valve replaced, and send her on her way. With a four figure bill of course.

Worst death pool update ever?

Close. Was watching the Dahmer story last night. ThT sh!t gave me nightmares. Dude slept with a mannequin before he started his killing spree.

Knowing there are people amongst us like him, scares the sh!t out of me.

I guess that wasn't deemed essential. And why no health insurance?

The first time, she was out of work. Adding her to my policy would have cost so much, we couldnt have covered the nut, and she would have been pre existing conditioned out of coverage for it anyway.

Second time she had insurance at a new job. But again, pre existing.

Last time I talked to her, she had spent a long time in the hospital with pneumonia (related to her condition). Ended up losing her job and thus her insurance.

I just saw him on one of the old Twilight zones or the equivalent with that big fat guy. Can't think of his name right now. Anyway he was pretty much the same guy even when he was really young. Pretty much made his mark you know all those Death Wish movies. But he was sneakily good in Kelly's Heroes too. ETA- Hitchcock.

Has GQ ever named him Citizen of the Year?

Val Kilmer would be worth more points, hypothetically.

You're thinking of Bronson Pinchot. He played the irrepressible "Balki" on the sitcom Perfect Strangers.

When I was a kid, that show taught me two things.

The dance of joy was awesome.

And dating a flight attendant is the way to live. They are hot, and gone a lot.

Never lived the second dream.

This story sounds fishy. Assuming your recollection is accurate, what did you expect the ER to do? Transfer her to a facility with a surgeon willing to perform a non-emergent, but needed surgery?

It's like I said here a few weeks ago. I bet about 90% of the people who actually know this name think that he actually killed somebody. Just another example of women not even taking f****** responsibility for their own actions.

He was definitely guilty of something.

Well, I will say that for one, I wasnt there for any of this. I was working one of my two jobs for all of these incidents and was only told about them afterward. Wouldnt shock me if she lied. She was a manipulative little thing. And its been a while, and I actively try to forget those years, so my recollection may not be great.

I did see bills though, and the vials of nitro. And I heard her regular doctor talk about her condition.

As I recall, she has whats called a bicuspid aortic valve. A genetic defect Im told. Her aunt supposedly had it to, and had a porcine valve replacement.

As for what I expect the er to do, they did exactly what I knew they would do. I was responding to someones assertion that there is no such thing as people going without needed health care in America. You know as well as I do their most certainly are. Millions of them.

OK. I suspect her description of a "hear attack" is inaccurate - she probably just had angina, which may or may not have been related to her valve. Either way, that's not something an ER can cure, and probably didn't require urgent hospitalization. She needed referral to a cardiologist and/or cardiothoracic surgeon, preferably from her primary physician. Yet the ER still will charge for their time and any testing/treatment provided. Why shouldn't they?

Of course your main point about people lacking needed medical care is accurate though.

Should the ER charge everyone?
