    Setup Advice - Superflex

12 team Superflex PPR. QB TDs are 6 pts. Starters: QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, TE, Superflex, K, Def. 6 bench spots. Trying to decide how to setup positions. 2 QBs, no Flex? Partial players, like 1.7 QBs, .3 Flex? I suppose the other option would be 1 QB, 1 Flex, but then increasing the QB baseline. (Strategy-wise I'm playing with both last starter and median for either strong starters or a broader team). For my bench, I usually go QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, TE [if it matters, we're also a 2 keeper league giving up draft pick minus 1 and I've kept Foles & Julius Thomas giving up 12th & 13th round picks] Thanks

    Keeper Entry Problem

No worries, our draft doesn't start until the 25th. I figured out that until I started a draft, I couldn't see what would happen. But when I mocked a pick for #1, it then showed who #2 kept, and moved to #3. The program always amazes me. Thanks

    Keeper Entry Problem

Mike, am I correct that the one place that doesn't get modified is the "Summary" tab, which doesn't automatically account for lost picks? So if I were using that tab to track my draft, I'd have to pay attention to which picks those are and use the "Skip Pick" button?

    Keeper Entry Problem

Not sure what I did - whether it was another compile or a save/exit/re-open, but it is now working in all regards. The placement of the cell for draft pick is a little confusing, since there's a while cell in between, but it's not a big deal. Thanks

    Keeper Entry Problem

It's also not updating anywhere. That is, the players entered aren't showing on the rosters of the teams nor are they coming off or being grayed out on any of the cheatsheet tabs, Another issue, if this helps figure out the answer. It appears that the spreadsheet should have 3 yellow cells per player: the first has a checkmark option & I assume this is where draft position should be, then the position, then the player name. After a player is selected, his team & bye week did show up after his name. On my spreadsheet, for the first team it has only the 2nd & 3rd cells and there is a extra cell after the last team.

    Keeper Entry Problem

Hey. I have DB set for 2 keepers and checked that we lose draft picks. On the keeper tab, for each team there are pull-downs for the position and the player name. But the 1st pull-down only shows a checkmark, not a choice of draft picks. Selecting the checkmark does nothing. Any idea what I might have done wrong? Thanks, Russell

    Keeper Thoughts

12 team PPR 2 keepers (our 1st year) QB can be flex - 6 points per TD - so most teams play 2 QBs (I've plugged 1.5 QBs and .5 Flex into Draft Buddy) 16 round serpentine draft - I draft 7th (but there's a good chance that all 6 teams before me will have forfeited their picks) Trying to decide on which 2 of these 3: 1. Nick Foles - Giving up a 13th round pick - with our scoring plugged into Draft Buddy and set at Compiler Draft Pick Recommended - is #4 QB and #42 overall 2. Zac Stacy - Giving up a 14th round pick - #14 RB and #23 overall 3. Julius Thomas - Giving up a 12th round pick - #2 TE and #28 overall I think I'm giving up Kaepernick because he'd cost a 1st round pick, Alfred Morris for a 2nd round pick, and Antonio Brown for a 5th round pick. Antonio's a tougher pass as he's the #6 WR and #24 overall, but I think you can find good value at WR later (hell, 3 of my 5 by the end of last year hadn't been drafted). Stacy's not a Top 10, but I'm guessing that Charles (1), McCoy (2), Forte (3), Petersen (4), Murray (5), Foster (6), Gerhart (7), Martin (9), Ball (10), Bernard (11), and Lacy (13), will all be kept. That will leave Le 'Veon Bell (8) (because I think he'll keep Forte & RGIII or Demaryius Thomas) and Sankey (12). Thanks

    Trade Thoughts?

I'm weak at QB, having picked 11 of 12 in a league that allows QB to be flex. I've got Garrard and Freeman. I'm good at WR (Randy Moss, Austin, Meachem and Shipley) and TE (Miller and Winslow), and deep at RB as I dropped Evans for Jackson on waivers - I've got Charles, Forte, Greene, Jackson and Hillis. I've been offered Roethlisberger for either Jackson or Greene. Even with him not being available until Week 6, I think it's a good deal. The question is for which? Jackson's the starter now, but untested, and it looks like Greene is going to split alot with LT but who knows. (In a week or two, I'll probably drop Freeman for a spare WR).
  9. 2 QBs, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 1 TE. Non-PPR, 4-pts for passing TDs, various yardage bonuses/increases at all positions. I'm guessing 4 RBs (Johnson, Peterson, MJD and Rice), Andre Johnson, and 5 QBs (Brees, Rodgers, Peyton, Brady and Schaub or Romo) will go before my pick. If I'm right, seems like a no brainer that I've got to go with Romo or Schaub and Moss or Austin, right, and resign myself to middle-of-the-road RBs? If one of the top 4 RBs falls, do I go with that RB and either Moss or Austin depending on which is still there, and resign myself to mediocre QBs, or do I take the QB, and resign myself to mediocre WRs? Thoughts?

    Scoring, Custom input and Rank

Thanks Mike. Using the first option, I just need to set/leave the rank option on 0. Great. I've got RB and WR stats for 2009, but haven't looked for earlier years. I did figure out after doing some calculating that it won't make that much of a difference, but picking 11th out of 12, it may help me with a couple of choices. Thanks again.
  11. Ok, trying to figure out how the custom fields play into the calculations. Are they only going to affect that position's internal rankings, or all of the rankings? What I want to do is give some extra weight to various players based on our leagues graduated yardage scoring. For example, on QBs, we award 1 pt/25 yds from 1-300 yards, then 1.25 pts/25 yds from 301-400, 1.5 pts/25 yds from 401-500 & 1.75 pts/25 from 501+. [i'm leaving out bonuses for 20+ yd completions and 40+ yd completions, because getting historical stats seems like too much a hassle]. I've put 5 pts in the 300+ games field to capture that yardage, without breaking it up, but wanted to give a little extra credit for those 400+. So I did my own analysis of those games and came up with a mildly scientific way to do input units on the QB sheet. For example, Brees has 4 400+ games over the past 3 seasons so I put a unit value of 1.33 in Custom A and in the scoring set up (he and Big Ben are the only with values over 1), and I set that as 10 pts per unit. First question, how does the ranking (0, 1, 2 or 3) choice work? [12-team league starting 2 QBs, so this position is complicated anyway] Second question, I want to do similar things for RB and WR, but the data might not be of comparable quality, so I'm concerned how it would affect the rankings calculated by CC/DB. Last question, if I update projections from CC/DB is it going to erase my custom columns or does it only replace the Compiler and FF Today projections?
