backup devices stashed? where's he getting cell and internet service?

Yes, backup devices dont need to be expensive iPhones. You can get slightly older model smartphones very cheap easily. Heck his friend will give him his old Samsung when he gets a new S8 for his bday. Any kid worth his salt today has a backup and a backup to the backup stashed.

Where will he get cell and internet service? Public WiFi ? He can easily DL text and call apps that give unlimited for free and a new phone number you can change whenever you want. There are even apps that can hide other apps. I could go on and on with other ways.

None of this is to say anything nefarious is going on at all. But Im saying any kid even half smart will have ways and means to have the desired freedom he wants.

I can assure you that you don't want to take my advice. I have a 16 year old who is a decent kid and works hard, but his grades are not that great and he spends a lot of time in his room behind closed doors. My youngest is a 14-year old entitled a-hole. :dunno:

Thank the lord you only have boys. I can't tell you how much more entitled teenage girls are. :(

Explain this with contextualization/examples.

I deal with teenagers often.

Teenage girls who are social justice inclined in a virtue-signalling type manner (usually from comfortable backgrounds) do have a moral superiority complex. Because they feel they are always actively in the right, I don't think their minds are positioned to entertain a modicum of how they might offer negative traits that negatively impact others, in any way, shape or form.

It's just a massive blind spot because they're engaged in an indoctrination path that actively makes them feel virtuous. There are some males in that group as well.

But there are plenty of normal (less socio economically comfortable) kids. 'Normal' in the sense that you see an understandable and predictable range of attitude problems or refreshing personality traits considering their everyday life.

The positive and negative in that down-to-earth realm seem evenly spread amongst the sexes from my vantage point. How they're expressed does differ a bit, but the net spread seems pretty even.

I dont know if he did. I think a parents job is just to instill values and morals in a kid so he doesnt do dumb or dangerous stuff with the freedom he has or takes. Do good in school, dont do drugs, dont get anyone pregnant, dont get arrested, cover those bases and we are cream cheese. Talk over. Parent of the year.

I know it does to you. When all youve got is a hammer everything looks like a nail

yeah well....all i know is i see a ton of clueless parents that sit there and act like there's nothing i can do about little johnny on his cell phone. they hand them the most expensive phones with total freedom. kid sits on it for hours, looks at and posts whatever they want at any hour of the day, etc. and then wonder how the cyberbullying happened. you are as a parent allowed to take the focking thing. johnny won't die without a focking phone! if i tell my kid to get the fock off it while living in my house and while im paying for it....they better get the fock off it. i'll smash every device, router, cable in the house before i let that happen. :dunno:

i just don't understand who's in charge some of the time.

In my experience with teenagers (granted, non-parental experience), girls do not come across as more entitled than boys.

There's one exception though, a certain profile that does.

Comfortable upbringing, progressive ideals, seeing yourself as a champion of those ideals. The concept that you could bring any sort of negativity to the table is totally foreign. You are the answer to things. There are some boys with that mentality, but usually boys are more caught up in distraction based stuff, as there isn't particular celebration of them being empowered. Girls who have this sense of moral high-ground can come across 'entitled' because they just aren't able to see themselves as being in any type of wrong. It does not follow. So when they act as humans do, it's a lot more difficult for them to identify and process their role in the strife/tension/what have you. From my vantage point it definitely comes across as a nurture, not nature, dynamic.

His wife looks like she has a scissor hold on a koala bear?

Might be unrelated but most Koalas are infected with Clamydia in the wild. Maybe it is related...

Rich girls are entitled, poorer kids (both genders) usually arent.

Your side hustle could be empty phrase translator.

I know right? I've got nothing except "teenage girls can be biotches." :dunno:

Its worse than listening to an art history lecture at the local CC.

See you have to paint with more pain, there’s not enough pain in your art.

Except that it doesn't help? :dunno:

A comfortable upbringing doesn't necessitate being rich or social justice activism. Entitled how? Why? To what effect? That was in my post. Or I was attempting to intelligibly discuss that in my post.

This is like summarizing the Desiderata as "be friendly, and be relaxed"

Also, tossing salads makes them more salad-y.

I was just giving you a hard time, but seriously, your posts are hard to follow. Less words and syllables would be welcome. Remember, brevity is the soul of wit.

That emoji means you're unsure...are you sure?

You also quoted the wrong post.

I was correcting you by responding to a post where you corrected someone else. The :dunno: was meant to indicate that you were correcting people but shouldn't be since you make mistakes yourself.

Hilarious, no? :dunno:

Oh come on. Naomi puts a lot of effort into her posts. The problem is, it requires far more effort to interpret WTF she's saying.

Another threat in the school last night. No details yet. School officials and police have swept the building and found nothing. Im guessing this threat was bomb related given what they have said. And also possibly some jackass thinking he is cool or funny and it would get them out of school today.

We've had multiple threats to several high schools, lock-outs, lock-ins, parents are freaked out. Sh!t is out of control.

13 year old girl arrested last night on multiple felonies, threats, intimidation, etc. on snapchat.

I've told my son not to mention or be involved in a conversation about it, it's too bad, this topic needs discussion but, can't take the chance of somebody taking his comments the wrong way or out of context.

Bomb threat...emailed to the principal last night. Dogs swept the school mutliple times...detective now trying to investigate origin of the email.

Think my last line about it being a kid is still right. Nice to see how seriously the school is taking everything.

I went in this morning for something else and there were several parents with concerns and freaking out...several held kids out today.

Hoping they find the kid and make an example of him...

High school football programs? How is that possible?

High school football is as popular as the NFL in some areas, especially states like Texas and Alabama. If the tax payers in those areas believe a weight lifting coach is going to benefit the football team, I am sure they don't mind at all having an extra person on the payroll. Idk how it all works exactly, but concessions and apparel for football crazy schools probably brings in a considerable amount of extra revenue.
