Do any of you guys..

Personally enjoy Disneyland/World? I'm still stuck on this. I had some friendly female acquaintances that were very into it, and I didn't get it, BUT at least they are girls, and girly girls at that. Men though. Really don't get it. I just watched a long visitor-filmed walk through to try to understand, and everyone in the comments was incredibly wistful. It looked altogether unappealing. One guy explained why someone would thumb it down (very few did) and he got reamed for it by the Disney freaks. Normally I'm fine not understanding why someone likes something I don't, but it's almost off putting that a grown man would genuinely  it, and I'd like to understand.

Wife loves it and we go every year or so. We figured out the best way to enjoy it is to go get drunk at California adventure first. Then we go to the main park and ride a few rides and eat stuff we like. Overall its expensive and you spend more time waiting around than having fun.

I mostly enjoyed my stays at Disneyland, but we are not fanatical about it. When our daughter was younger she loved the princesses. We enjoyed witnessing her amazement.

We have a few Disney crazy friends.... Good for them.

The crowds get old. Prices are high, but most vacations are going to get you one way or another. The pricing does not annoy me too much.

My daughter has is 12 and has been 4 times. Even she has had enough.... Other places we all want to go.

Went to Disney World with my brother when I was 10 (dad was on a business trip to Orlando) and thought it was interesting, Epcot was my favorite part.

Went to Disneyland in my 20s with a girlfriend while on a coastal tour of SoCal and had a good time. We spent one day at Disney and one day at California Adventure, school was in session so no brats running around, we ran around like big kids for a few hours each day and she showed me all the rides she enjoyed growing up (from CA); went to bars/dinner/concerts each night at Downtown Disney for adult fun. Saw Bush live at House of Blues, that was probably the highlight of the time spent in Anaheim.

Have never had a burning desire to go back to either one but would not rule it out if the woman I am with wanted to or when my future kids are old enough to enjoy it and remember it.

This post led me to watch a Bush video on YouTube and saw this quote:

Nostalgia has a funny way of blocking "bad moments" and hyper-focusing on good memories..Don't you think it is ironic that MOST people say, "those were the good old days" and very rarely associate any bad with it. Even the "Bad moments" they recall, they seem to categorize those moments as "growing pains, or learning and finding their place in the world" The truth is, the moments you are in now, 15 years from now will ALSO be the good old days, and 15 years from then, when your health is failing or family members have passed, then those moments with them will have been the good old days. Most people find themselves living in the past, and only drudging through the present with no appreciation for it. Try to remember that. Appreciate the here and now as best as you can, after all when you were in the "good old days" you had NO idea you were in them. The same applies to the moments you are in now.

When I was like 9 years old, my family took me to Thailand. We not only paid for the vacation, but paid for Christmas presents that you're too. And I got all the candy I could eat!

It's almost (if not is) a "deal breaker" for me, and I simultaneously feel bad and can't shake that it is. Looking forward to two weeks in Disney the way I'd like look forward to a bucket list natural destination is just hard to gloss over.

Two weeks?

Yeah. He is going with an extended family member who just graduated HS, so it's in her honor. But, judging by him going solo last year for a handful of days and jumping at opportunities to take other extended family members in the past, and just by listening to him, I know he digs it a ton. I'm glad he enjoys it, don't begrudge him his enjoyment, but it just pierces my confidence in our ability to gel.

Went a couple of times as a kid. Dont really care too much to go back. Only thing Id really enjoy doing there now is trying the different foods and drinks they have. Other than that not much Id care to do. Like others said its way too packed. But then again best times to go are in the off season when all the kids are back in school. Nothing worse than it being hot and humid as hell outside and being stuck in a crowded theme park unable to really move around much. Would much rather go take a Disney cruise

Also, Star Wars land is in the making and will be around next year. When that happens, fuhgheddaboutit, crowds will be even more insane. Legions of fans will be coming the world over to both states parks and you will barely even have elbow room.

I'd love to take my kids but we can't afford it so it's not happening.
