Rolex

I have a silver one that I've had for about ten years. It seems like I only wear it for dressy occasions, weddings, funerals, etc. In hindsight it was probably a waste of dough.

I'm am far from a flashy guy. For some reason I always told myself when I buy my Rolex it will signify I can "waste" the dough on a watch, hence this is why I plan to get one.......If that makes any sense at all.

I don't remember the last time I wore a watch. Pre-cell phones probably.

They always got in the way when typing.

I'd rather waste the dough on something I can't misplace or that can't be taken away by some thug.

I wear a fitbit Charge 2 most of the time. (it really does help get your ass moving)

I wear this on the golf course https://www.amazon.com/Garmin-Approach-Premium-watch-leather/dp/B071P59DP9/ref=sr_1_5?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1528981883&sr=1-5&keywords=garmin+golf+watch&refinements=p_89%3AGarmin

I have a movado 800 series from 2010 (for when I dress up)

Some guys are "watch guys," if you are one of those, go for it. Personally I have a hard time justifying spending that much money but I can appreciate a nice watch.

Bit of grown up man advice? Start looking at jewelry stores, less so pawn shops, and other places that buy fine watches.

Odds are slim that you'll ever need to go that route. But if you find yourself in a position needing to do so? I'll guarantee you it'll be in such a circumstance as you don't have time to start shopping around then. Get even a verbal quote from these guys and see what's up.

That may be the one value of really fine watches for guys. You can't walk around with $20,000 in cash without the feds grilling you. And these days? Unlawfully seizing it as a civil forfeiture without any sort of legal hearing. Good luck getting that back. But you can walk around with a $50,000 watch and they don't say diick.

Consider it portable emergency liquidity.

...That looks good and might just get you laid in the meantime.

I wear a watch every day but I dont spend a lot of $ on it. I have a Skaagan and a GShock. Both gifts and probably both under $120. I would probably spend up to twice that on a Swiss Army Watch but thats about my ceiling.

Everyone on my wife's side of the family gets one when they graduate from college. My wife's step-dad had one that he left me when he died. I used to wear it all the time but stopped about a year ago and now only wear it on special occasions.

Wearing a watch bothers me. Especially if it's making my wrist sweat or I am just sweating in general

Thats why I have a GShock. Plastic wristband and the thing is damn near indestructible.

I only wear watches when getting dressed up. I got an older Rolex that has lasted for over 10 years now. Its not the flashiest one though. Ive got cheaper watches that actually look nicer IMO. But I do change up what watch I wear depending on what I wear

No, don't wear a watch.

Never found it comfortable to wear a watch.

How much we talking here? If it's more than about five bills I couldn't justify it. Too many things that I actually care about that I'd rather waste the money on. Even at five bills I'd probably pass, even if I did wear a watch.

Buy a cheaper watch and do something fun with the money you save.

This is true for so many expensive things. Weddings being a big one imo. Hmm, a piece of crap gaudy watch or a trip to Europe? A tacky commercialized overpriced wedding or a new car/house? Hmm.

Yes if you can, then by all means. But if you even have to think about the budget for a second, it’s not worth it.

What do you know? I agree with you - weddings, jewelry, watches...the list goes on and on. But I'll add cars and homes to the list, as you really only need the basics.

We are geeks. We can afford our own line of expensive watches

Id wear a Drobeski brand timepiece. Would give me some much needed class, maturity and work ethic.

I have a nice black ceramic Rado that is probably 25 years old. I wear it to work most days, but not when I travel. It was given to me when my stepfather passed away, so it is sentimental. I would have never ponied up $1500 for a watch.

Rados are nice, I was || close to buying one in the Caribbean. My manager the watch guy is big into Panerai, which I'd probably choose over a Rolex.

Dumb on so many times. I have a Swiss army watch that can coordinate time and Aunt flows arrival to the second.
