Thanks for filling in the rest of the scroll Voltaire! I wanted to touch on the current state of the NFL and politics without being too somber (not trying to make light of it in any way, just lightening the mood). PCU is one of my favorite comedies, it used to run on Comedy Central a lot and I would watch every time I came across it.
It's a tough time to be an NFL fan, or at least for me it is. This kneeling for the national anthem stuff is weighing on me.
Coming here most every day for sixteen years, I've racked up >30K posts, 13th most in the forum. I'd think I'd seen it all, knowing full well how nasty the place can get. But not so. I really have thin skin on this issue, I can't read the threads on the subject without getting angry - angry at posters I really like normally.
It seldom happens, I'm pretty jaded after all. The way I was raised, you'd never disrespect the flag. Ever. Seeing 95% of the league and so many posters around here doing just that, or not caring, seeing eight Detroit Lions kneel for the national anthem, it's just heartbreaking.
Using that "who's been irritating me less" criteria seven months in.... still not Trump and his fans. I grew up with these people. I understand them. They actually seem normal, surprising as it may seem to you. These liberals on the other hand: cop bashing, white shaming, trannie loving, kneeling during the national anthem. Fock them. They're the ones that really freak me out and it's not even close to being close. ~me
