Steeler "fans"...

What does this mean?

I'm a Steeler fan who has been calling on Tomlin to go for nearly 3 years now. The guy is a HORRIBLE coach. Allows too much locker room drama, allows the players to get away with too much and allows a culture of a hierarchy in the locker room, where star players less accountable than lesser ones. Oh, and while I"m at it...how the FOCK can you lose NINE challenges in a row? (stat i saw earlier today). Fock, flipping a coin will result in a pretty close to 50/50 split over time but this buffoon can lose 9 straight?!!?! Horrible game manager, horrible clock manager and horrible strategist...but man is he good for a nice quote or two after the L drops.

It's harder to fire black coaches than white coaches. It's bad press. Especially with him being 123-64-1 with 2 superbowls as a head coach. Not to mention they have the 3rd best record in the AFC at this time.

There are so many bad coaches in the NFL. Why are head coaches so bad at a job they get paid millions for?

And despite being bad and getting fired, they get rehired somewhere else as if they will magically become good.

It's a rinse and repeat league.

Does noone here see that aside from a tie only one of two teams win when playing each other? Think about the complexity of a team. Coaches, players, management, etc. It's a competative league. Steelers are 7-4-1 and in first place.

Steelers and Ravens are tied with 7 wins.

Only thing separating them is the ravens have five loses the Steelers have a tie with the lowly browns.

Year after year the Steelers have one of the most talented teams and Vegas has them highly picked to reach the super bowl, and the last time they played in one was in 2010.

Now they lost two straight games.

This weekend they should beat the Raiders at the Raiders. But Tomlin is 0-2 at the Raiders.

Then they play the Patriots and they lost 5 straight vs the pats and Tomlin is 2-7 vs the Hoody.

Then they play the Saints and Tomlin is 0-2 vs the Saints.

Then they play the Bengals and they own them.

He won’t be fired now, but if they lose two or more of those games they might not even make the playoffs.

They are a underachieving team under Tomlin despite the teams record with him as coach.

They are offten times outcoached.

You are probably one of the few... Though I didn't recall seeing these comments when they were riding a 6-game winning streak...

Don't get me wrong, there are worse coaches. But Tomlin can't hold a candle to Belichik, it's why they get their ass kicked every year by the Pats. Tomlin also can't prepare his team for inferior competition, every year he barfs up a game or two to the Raiders, Browns, Jets or some other cellar dweller that costs them valuable spots in the standings.

And I'll be very honest, Tomlin is largely successful because the Steelers organization as a whole, and Kevin Colbert specifically, are really good at drafting and finding players to fit their system.

Plus, the stability the team affords someone is beyond compare. In nearly 50 years they have had 3 head coaches. THREE! I look at guy like Sean Payton in NO, Sean McVay in Los Angeles and see guys who get it, who when they walk on the field are the smartest guys there. Tomlin is a total players coach, but he's not getting the most of that team.

Doesn't Tomlin have more SB wins as a head coach than both those guys together? Don't hold me to that as I haven't looked it up. But everyone around here praises Eli Manning for being on a team that won 2 SBs and say he is HOF worthy. And Manning is barely over .500 in his career. Tomlin is 55 games over .500 and has to be doing something right to continue to rack up the wins. There are no other Belichicks in the world of football. Zero.

Tomlin as one super bowl win the same as Payton.

And he did win that super bowl with a lot of players from the Cower Steelers.

Only 1 for Tomlin? How many do the other two coaches mentioned have?

And since when do coaches have full and final say in the draft?

So Tomlin has as many SB wins as both Peyton and McVay put together. Gotcha.

Tomlin won with Cowher's team. He went once on his own a couple of years later and lost to Green Bay, who just fired their head coach who has a superbowl win and 9 playoff appearances in 12 years. For certain franchises, getting to an winning the superbowl IS the standard. Tomlin got rid of his OC last year, got rid of Lebeau a few years back and despite all the talent in the world doesn't have much to show for it recently. His team got overconfident last year looking forward to the patriots and got kicked in the sack by the Jags. It's a team constantly filled with drama, which is also on him. If he doesn't advance deep into the playoffs I think it's time for a reset.

The one part I agree with you on is the drama. I can see that alone being reason enough to justify firing him. Can't believe he has let that team get so out of control. Especially Roethlisberger and Brown. I blame Bell for his whole situation.

This team, specifically the offense, consistently plays down to the level of the opponent.

No business letting the Raiders stay close in this game.

Tomlin must go.

Josh Dobbs may be the worst QB in the league. Like, as bad as Nate Peterman. Yet they still refuse to run the ball. This is just one small example of why Tomlin needs to go

"The Steelers have done this many times through the years, inexplicably blowing a game on the road under Tomlin that they shouldn’t. A loss to the Raiders, who were 2-10 coming in, was mind-blowing."

Even Yahoo's Frank Schwab gets it! THAT is how apparent it is!

Was just listening to sports radio in NY and both radio hosts exclaimed they would take Tomlin as Jets coach in a heartbeat. One man's trash is another's treasure I guess.

This cannot be defended. Roethlisberger goes down near end of 1st half but comes back and Tomlin let's him sit? I guess he thinks he can ride out the game with Dobbs?! Then brings back Ben after 4 second half drives amount to NOTHING? Is Ben hurt or isn't he? Can he play or not?! So Ben comes in and goes 4 of 4 and leads the Steelers to WAAAAAAY too quick of a TD, giving the Raiders the ball back. Then the defense turns into swiss cheese (AGAIN!) and the weaponless Raiders drive the field for a score giving up a 40 yr pass to Seth Roberts that NO ONE covered. Raiders drive the field as Tomlin sits on two timeouts letting precious time tick away so much you get the ball back with 15 seconds left? And your QB takes you up the field in that time only to have your IDIOT KICKER (apologies to Peyton Manning for stealing his term) misses ANOTHER kick?!!! Boswell has missed ELEVEN FREAKIN KICKS this year!!!

One of the Steelers beat writers summed it up: The Steelers can't run the ball, can't play defense and can't play special teams. Tomlin is supposed to be a defensive guru from the line of Dungy, and was a special teams guy himself...yet your team can't do either of them?

Got. To. Go.
