This Years Top RBs

Recommended Posts

Every year it changes. Some due to injury, some due to coaching, and others due to suspension. Who are you guys trying to target this year? I know a lot of you are on the Latavius Murray train and I am too if the Raiders coaching staff will let him be a feature back. If DMC is actually healthy he could have potential playing for Dallas.

Spiller I think he could really shine in the Saints system , if he can stay healthy enough to play . Gordon with the Chargers . I like this fit right player right team . Gore with the Colts .

I could see Spiller flourishing in New Orleans. It'll be interesting to see how they incorporate him with Mark Ingram

Idk bout that. I love spillers pure talent as much as anyone, but he is as injury prone as they come. Plus the saints dont usually produce consistent ffball rbs. I also dont like the way the team is headed. Poor drafting for years now has turned the team into a mediocre at best who cant even beat out the other shlt teams in that division.

Correct. Spiller will be all but unusable except in full one point ppr's.

I think Gordon and Gurley have a good chance at being top 10 RBs. It seems Lacy has the best opportunity to be the top back this year. I see Forte dropping down a few spots from last year because of fewer catches and more competition in the backfield. I wouldn't be surprised is David Johnson has a good year in Arizona as well.

Sleeper RB that could be a great late round pickup Karlos Williams. Fred Jackson is gonna get banged up so it'll be the Karlos and shady show. Boobie Dixon and Bryce brown can't match Karlos Williams

As long as McCoy is healthy there will be no other fantasy relevant RB in Buffalo.

Jeremy hill will crack top 5.

I like him, but I don't see it. Bernard is to electric a talent to just be tossed aside and he will also take care of most of the third down , receiving work.

Agree about Hill , hard to see him in the top five with Bernard still playing on the same team .

Now if Bernard were to go down, or be moved that's another story.

A true sleeper RB is David Cobb. He will quickly supplant Sankey/Greene.

I would agree with this. Much more so than Karlos Williams.

Joseph Randle. Hands down. I cannot and will not buy the DMC hype, regardless of the offensive line in front of him.

Jeremy Hill was a top 10 running back last season in PPR leagues. I don't see how Gio Bernard affects him in any way, shape, or form. Whether Gio is healthy or not, Hill is the main RB on Cincy, and will be a beast this season.

This will be about the eighth year in a row Fred Jackson gets the "he's washed up" treatment. And guess what? I'm willing to bet he finishes the season as a top 30 RB.

AMEN!! why people cant get off Gio is beyond me. He is not a good running back period. Now hes a great back out of the backfield and a great pass catcher. Bottom line they DRAFTED jeremy hill for a reason. He will get the majoratiy of the carries and all of the goal line carries. Hes as safe as they come

When you like at fftoday rankings from last season PPR. Hill was 10th in total points and 16 in avg at 13:4 . Gio was ranked 16th in total points and 14th in avg at 14:5 . Now Hill is the better player and with the bigger upside but to say that is not a good back and won't cut into Hill playing time , I think is a mistake . Hill is no question the better player but Gio will get a lot of work .

In the first 8 games of last year, Hill had exactly 50 carries. That's 2 total games worth of carries over half of a season. As a pure starter, he's a shoe in for 1300 to 1400 yards and 10 td's.

Where does C.J. Anderson fit into all of this?

First rounder for sure. Denver is gonna try to save Peyton for the playoffs this year by pounding the rock all season. Elway has seen about enough of his noodle-arm in the post-season. Anderson may well lead the NFL in rushing yards this year.

Been playing fantasy football way to long to believe in a shoe in . And no question about the stats you have posted bravo, but my point is Gio is not going to just sit on the bench like some want to believe . He will still be used and enough to slow down them Shoe I. Stats you have posted for Hill . I don't see Hill being a top five Rb .

1300-1400 yards and 10 tds isn't good enough for being a top five rb?

Only five running backs have surpassed 1300 rushing yards in the last two seasons, one of whom is LeSean McCoy twice.

Jeremy Hill had 13 fewer rushing attempts than Justin Forsett in 2014. Only LeSean McCoy (x2), Marshawn Lynch, and DeMarco Murray had more than 300 carries the past two seasons. The notion of Hill losing significant carries/touches to Gio is insignificant given the current layout of running back usage in the NFL. He is arguably in one of the best situations for reliability as well as carrying a relatively low risk from overruse or injury

You have lofty expectations for a position that has fewer and fewer bell-cows...

Rudi Johnson always had solid numbers in that offense- 1400 yds 8-10 TDs and Cincy always had complimentary backs then too. It's just about the same offense. Jeremy Hill is gonna get him some cold cuts.

I've been on the L Murray bandwagon for a long time here and feel it's just pulled into the station. That kid has far too many physical skills not to blow up. He'll either gain 1,000 yds or go out on his shield.

It's been a lonely bandwagon . Raiders once again need to pull their head out and use this guy , not so sure they will again .

Rudy Johnson never had a back with a tenth of the ability Gio has, but I still like Hill to have a big year.

Great post , I agree . And no one is saying Hill won't have a great season . Right now I don't see top in points at the rb spot . But top ten for sure .

This year the only one I could truly trust so far is Bell. Lynch and foster are getting old and have a lot of miles on them. AP was out a whole year so there's a big ? on him. DMC, Shady, Gore, Demarco Murray, Ryan Matthews are all on different teams with different systems so not sure how they will be when adjusting to it. The new RBs are always a ? since their pass protection is always questionable. Latavius Murray, Hyde, and Randall haven't been the bell cow so it is difficult to feel safe about them. Gio and Hill will take away from each other's value. This year I may just load up on true #1 WRs and pick my RBs afterwards if I can't get Bell and even he is suspended for smoking weed so he has the potential to mess up more and get more suspension time.

You think those early round RBs have question marks, wait until you look at the guys you'll be choosing from if you spend your first couple of picks on WR. Those are not decisions I want to make.

I don't really know who I want, but I do know which top RBs I'm staying away from DeMarco Murray, Lynch, and Forte.

There's been a bunch of shuffling this year at the rb position so it makes it difficult to really know who to trust

Everyone was down on Lynch last year ..Obviously character concerns. We all know the outcome. I actually like him this year..main reason, he has Graham to stretch the field now opening more run lanes. And Graham can block!

Graham has got to be better then Luke Willson though. Luke was horable. Graham is at least a bigger body to get around if nothing else. :)

My early top 10:

1. J. Charles

2. M. Lynch

3. AP (Could move up or down depending)

4. L. Bell (Brutal schedual and Susp. Might boost him up in PPR later though)

5. E. Lacy

6. L. McCoy (No real worries if PPR)

7. M. Forte (not sure yet. PPR gold usually. Need more research)

8. CJ Anderson (Could go to #6)

9. A. Foster (Should be higher, but I feel he's so old. Like his situation, def team, sched though)

10. Not sure yet - See below list

Since I'm not to satisfied with this top 10 I'll probably wait on RB until the 2nd or 3rd, as long as I pick after #4or5 overall.

So these would be on my radar next: (Some for PPR)
J. Bell, Hill/Bernard, L. Miller, Gordon, Forsett, Morris, Murray, Ellington, Spiller/Ingram, Hyde/Bush, Maybe Gore
