    Deep Sleepers at RB

    1. There is no way Smith is cut. The guy works his ass off to get the most of his talent. He will make the team and take over when Best misses time this year (and he will. He always did in his college days.). 2. Maroney is a tease, but not by his own hand. BB doesn't give RBs the chance to get into rhythm. I like him, but I'm afraid he doesn't live up to his draft stock until he is elsewhere next year. 3. Dwyer is better than people think (as you saw tonight). He has been nagged by little injuries dating back to OTAs. His health is coming around, and he has the tools to succeed as a feature back. If Mendy goes down, do you really believe Isaac "Two yards and a cloud of dust" Redman starts? Please. Dwyer will make the roster, and get carries as the season progresses.

    DJax/Celek/Maclin/McCoy value

A better question is: What are their values if Kolb sucks? Which it looks like he does....

any chance J-Walk crosses into vikes wr2?

They do when they need bodies just to make it through the preseason.

What's the deal with Tom Brady's Haircut?

NFL Live covered the Pats' camp on Friday. With that hair hanging out of the helmet, reminiscent of Elway's look...

    2010 Fearless Predictions

I'll play: 1. Pierre Thomas is a top 10 fantasy RB at season's end. 2. Ryan Mathews struggles, Sproles leads Chargers RBs. 3. Kolb struggles, Vick starts at least 6 games in 2010. 4. Aaron Rodgers totals 35+ TDs passing and rushing, but finishes 2nd to Brady in fantasy points. 5. Adrian Peterson catches 50+ passes, and is top RB. 6. Larry Fitzgerald is the top scoring fantasy WR. 7. The Jets miss the playoffs. 8. Brandon LeFell goes for 60/800/7. 9. Redskins battle Cowboys for division lead until week 15, but win the wildcard. 10. Saints have mounting injuries, and Falcons win the division.

    Packers WR corps

I'd be willing to bet Finley leads this team in receptions. After all of the glowing comments about what he could become, he finally matured and turned it into on the field production the second half of last year. Add to that the fact that he attended the Fitzgerald camp, and we have a maturing, budding star on our hands here. It may turn out to be a Gates/VJackson type of distribution...

Kevin Walter Fighting Off Jacoby Jones For WR#2

I hope it's Jones. I snagged him off the waiver wire in my Dynasty in week 13 last year anticipating this battle. Now comes the pay-off baby!

    Brandon Lloyd replacing Brandon Marshall

Marshall was never the deep threat for the Broncos. He makes his bones catching short and YACing.

    Dropping value

No his contract is up, and he doesn't want to ruin his chances of playing at a high level and securing a new large contract. No need to risk injury.

Pierre Thomas' wrist x-rays are negative

He's already back. If it were a game, he would have finished.

Arian Foster Running Well With First Team

What is boils down to for me is this: The coaching staff doesn't think Slaton is feature back material. They did it out of necessity in '08, but he failed miserably as a full time guy in '09. They've brought in numerous vets and undrafted players to compete for the job the last few years. He got injured at the end of the season. Moats had a good game, but then he faltered. So they gave Foster a chance and he impressed. So the off season arrives and there are rumors that Slaton may not be available for the season, or at the very least the beginning of the season due to his neck injury and the uncertainty of it. Moats signed with the Vikings, and suddenly you are looking at a backfield of the very green Foster and newly signed Chris Henry. They needed to draft a RB to compete. Tate was pretty ordinary in college, but looked fantastic at the combine. (IMO is always dangerous to draft these workout warriors!) Foster, coming off his strong performance was given the opportunity to get first team reps with Slaton out. Tate came in running with the third team to start OTAs and injured a hamstring, keeping him out of action (he has a history of leg problems in college as well). Due to this, Foster, who has busted his ass to win and keep this job all offseason, was given all the forst team reps and hasn't looked back. Now into camp, Foster is still showing promise, with Slaton and Tate working their way back into action as second and third string. What we know is this: None of these guys have proven to be able to handle a full workload as of yet. We can also see that Foster is better suited to handle a full workload due to his combination of size and skills--he has been compared to Eddie George by a few analysts--than the other two guys. One poster mentioned that Tate is clearly more talented, but I beg to differ. Tate had one solid college season and parlayed that with a good combine performance into a high draft pick. But we have seen this kind of thing many times, and not every high pick ends up as a starter. A perfect example of this is Brandon Jackson being taken in the second round and undrafted Ryan Grant coming in and winning the job. The team will let the better players play--the guy who earns the job--regardless of where someone is taken. I think this is Foster's job to lose. At this point I think he gets about 15 touches a game, with Tate sprinkled in for relief and Slaton on 3rd downs--limiting the value of all 3 guys. I honestly see Foster as the more complete back and believe he starts for the whole season. When the preseason games begin, it will clear up some, but I don't think we will know until the first real game. I think if you want to take a chance on one of these guys, take Foster late, and let someone else take the over-hyped Tate in the middle rounds...

    Thomas or Grant?

0.5 PPR I think I want to go with the safest line-up against this opponent. I think the safest play at WR is Rice, Marshall, and Moss. And Grant at RB. Agree? Here are our current starting line-ups for this important round one match-up. His options are very limited and this will be his line-up no question: Mine: QB: Brady RB1: AD RB2: Grant WR1: RMoss WR2: Marshall WR3: Rice TE: Finley K: Akers DST: Jets His: QB: Rivers RB1: MJD RB2: Barber WR1: Housh WR2: Henderson WR3: Avant TE: Celek K: Graham DST: Packers I am also considering Pierre Thomas-especially if Bell is out. Thoughts?
