Please Reply YOU will decide this Veto

Recommended Posts

I somehow got in a league with league vote deciding veto and the commish is involved in a trade and he will not reverse a trade that went through vote(largely because no one voted). So we agreed to take it to this board to decide the fate. VETO OR NOT? Your comments are encouraged. THANX

Player A is 2-8 and eliminated from playoffs. Player B is 7-3 overall 3rd. Also player A has Garcia as his other QB. NON KEEPER

PLAYER A GETS:

Bo Scaife (Ten - TE)

Donnie Avery (StL - WR)

Brandon Stokley (Den - WR)

David Garrard (Jac - QB)

Kirk Morrison (Oak - DL)

PLAYER B GETS

Peyton Manning (Ind - QB)

Roy Williams (Dal - WR)

Jason WittenP (Dal - TE)

DeMarcus Ware (Dal - DL

Why allow teams that are eliminated from the playoffs to trade?

This appears to me to be an attempt to play kingmaker.

I know that people are all freakin' anti-veto, but it appears to me your rules are set up wrong.

How skewed the trade is: relative to scoring. But if I'm the Commish, I quash it, likely.

Player B is raping player A, however IMHO a trade should not be vetoed unless collusion suspected. My Vote is for the trade.

I say not. Roy Williams is still learning the Offense, Witten has a broken Rib..No obvious collusion.

Trades should never be vetoed

Why are you still trading in week 11?

Collusion! I would not play FF with either of these guys ever again.

Unless there are other incentives a player eliminated from the playoffs in a non keeper has absolutely no reason to trade and this becomes a case of collusion.

This is the correct answer. Case closed.

I know FF boards are mighty anti-veto (this one being no exception).. this trade comes too late (2-8 ??) and is clearly an attempt tp get a contending team Payton Manning. Even in a keeper, this deal stinks to high heaven. I vote for the VETO in this case.

Good luck.

I can't tell from this if this is a) collusion, b stupidity, or c) a desperation effort on the part of the non-contending team to get more depth and try to be competitive the rest of the way. I'm guessing a little of b and c.

If you guys are so dumb as to allow league voting this late in the season, this is your result - so live with it. Next year establish some common sense rules like an end of October trade deadline that avoids this crap.

No veto here.

The commish is wishing me to clarify how the points are setup(this is anything but normal I would suggest you to read them it is very QB heavy):

Also, the commish is not directly involved with this trade. He is involved with a seperate trade with the party eliminated from the playoffs.

Commish gets: Dallas Clark TE Ind

Eliminated player gets: Greg Olsen TE chi

I am of the mind set that there is a need for more cheating in fantasy football; creative cheating = more gooder. Unfortunately, there is no cheating here.

No veto.

Agree with the opinion this trade is pretty blatent in a non-keeper league. Veto it and boot the 2-8 team out of the league while giving a warning to the 7-3 team not to try this sh!t again.

Good luck and elect a new commish.

More info is needed here. Are these two dudes related or good friends?

I would consider kicking both of thee guys out next year. Especially now in light of the fact that passing tds are 6 pts. Indy's playoff schedule is one of the best there is, it is clear that these two are trying to split the pot unless there is a really good explanation.

Can the teams giving up Manning and in the other case Dallas Clark, even make a plausible explanation for how this helps their teams in a redraft? Trades this late are under a lot more scrutiny.. it's just the way it is after week 10-11.

They both sound like total BS to me.

After looking at your points settings it appears Peyton Manning is an absolute beast. All those players for him alone would be collusive. Roy Williams and Witten thrown in makes it ridiculous.

Also, Dallas Clark for Olsen is more evidence that your commish is a cheat.

Veto!

And I'm a huge anti-veto commish, but this is ridiculous.

It never ceases to amaze me at how everyone thinks they know everything and who or who is not getting ripped off. the trade looks fine. There could be many reasons why team A or B made this deal. Just because a team is 2-8 doesn't mean they don't get to continue to play the games.

No way this shouldn't go through.

Okay, take out those 2 (even though with Romo back their value goes way up) and Player B is still getting a likely top3 QB from here on out....for who??? David Garrard (not a starter) and Donnie Avery (flex spot WR) - so how is this not collusion???

Why is Peyton Manning such a big deal? He's ranked #7 in my league and Gerard is #11. And it's not like Roy Williams and Jason Witten are tearing it up like years past.

i have read the posts and still we have no feel for the league.

there has to be a reasoneach team made the trade.

is there money involved?

It doesn't matter if both teams are helped or not. Unless you have verifiable proof that both teams are cheating, don't veto the trade. Manning could break his leg this week. Witten might break more ribs. Scaife could go on a tear with 6 TD's over the next 2 weeks.

You don't know what these players will do in the next few weeks. I flat out ridiculed a guy in my league for dropping Carson Palmer and picking up Steve Slaton early in the season.
