  1. No job is secure forever. Back in the days when coaches didn't make so much they may have had more job security. Now that they make big bucks too, they're expected to produce on a regular basis.... by the fans, the media, and eventually ownership. And while some head into obscurity, others bounce around from team to team in one capacity or another. Norv Turner is a prime example. The guy is a great offensive coordinator but he's never impressed me as a head coach. Maybe he doesn't charge as much or was the best they could do at the time, I dunno.

Hope NO never makes the playoffs again

My relief knows no bounds...... but you're right, Brees & Colston should have gotten the first two/three TDs, and then grind out a few more with the running game.

    Saints and Brees

    Brees to Colston!! 94 yards

Which Backup RB's Have the Most Playoff Value?

Ricky Williams could possibly make your list....if he's available.
  5. Whatever, you who responded with such aplomb seem to have it all figured out, that's why the U.S. is in such good shape I suppose. I didn't intend to get into a debate and I didn't slam republicans, I only mentioned the lame rhetoric that was posted in this....just this, thread. Both sides are filled with it, yet the guy who responded to my 2nd post made it sound like I was attacking him personally....I guess reading comprehension is on the to-do list? If you like a candidate, by all means vote for him, but with all the hate in the air, it's no wonder this country has become so arrogant and inconsiderate and despised by most of the world we insist on saving, as long as we see something in it for us . We set a great example. Seems a shame it takes a tragedy to bring us together, cause war certainly doesn't seem to be working. God bless us all, we certainly need it, peace
  6. What, that it's gonna be a tough road for anyone to dig out from under the all the crap our current leadership has put us in? I already know this, I just don't want to see it continue. And while I think most politicians are douchbags, it amazes me how quickly folks buy into the propoganda spewing forth. But Wed morning, we'll see how the rest of America feels, either way.
  7. Up with those hemlines no matter the reason! And to all the pundits spouting Bush/McCain propoganda on this thread....either you're millionaires who like the way things are being handled in this country or idiots. Whether Obama is the answer or not, I can only hope what we've had the last 8 years is not something the avg American wants to see continue. Guess we'll find out Wed morning....

    Roddy White

IMO Vick wouldn't have been in so much trouble over simple dogfighting. It was the torture before the killing of the 'bad fighters' that got folks in such an uproar. People/shelters kill dogs everyday, but they don't hang, drown, electrocute or otherwise torture them first. And of course all the other things that have already been mentioned. It is sad that if he'd just been the typical trailor trash that we think of when we hear about crap like this, he probably wouldn't have served any time.

Starting to see why A Peterson is running so hard

Yes, and I believe it was Edge who complained that he was being reigned in so he couldn't reach higher incentives in his contract.

Starting to see why A Peterson is running so hard

Do the incentives count directly against the cap for the season they're earned in? Seems like it would be a difficult balancing act if it counts directly against a given years total. If your guys aren't reaching their incentives your team probably sucks, but if they are you're probably in a heap of trouble with the accountants.

Breakdown a pair of Week 8 Wide Receivers

I have Colston as well but other than week 2 when he added a TD to his four catches, he's been horrible. Last year he had opportunities and made plays but this year he's playing like an injured TE. He isn't clicking at all with Brees and doesn't seem inspired. Brees' accuracy hasn't been helping either. And lastly, due to byes I have to start him this week which almost guarantees a poor performance.

As much as I have man-love for Reggie...

The way the media twists things, I don't blame him for not wanting to give them something to misconstrue. Sure, you think you're just going out there to say something sincere and next thing you know, you've pissed off one group or another. I too appreciate a player who doesn't demand the spot-light off the field. Much prefer the Barry Sanders approach, but that's just me.
