Anybody use a fitbit

Recommended Posts

My wife and sons have been into it for awhile. I thought it was sorta silly at first, but they got me one for Christmas and I've actually found it useful.

I've never been motivated by gimmicky stuff before, but for some reason, this works. I think its the competitive component.

I use one, I actually like it, get a little reminder when you haven't moved in a while, just helps me know if I'm being a slug on a particular day.

What does it do?

Automatically tracks your minutes of daily exercise, # of daily steps, heart rate, & calories burned.

You can also log your food to see calories in vs out and some other stuff too.

The competition is about the # of daily steps you take vs others in your group.

Basically it tells you if you sit around like a lump of sod all day, or if you get off your a ss and move around.

Wait until your son comes out of his room and says "I just jerked off for 3.7 miles!!!"

I am, but there are days when you're just stuck in the office and it's nice to get a nudge to move a bit.

I remember my boss having one and it said he walked what seemed to be a not very long distance and burned a trillion calories.

So I figure the calorie burner feature wasn't one to pay attention to.

The email I have associated with the fitbit account contains a lot of info.

Stop acting like a spurned school boy. We can still be geek friends.

I dunno. My calorie burner seems to be pretty accurate.

As I understand it, it calculates total calories burned, not just those from exercise.

My wife and father in-law use one. Since they both have diabetes, it's helped to make sure they get their goal of steps in for the day. I don't think either really use many of the other features...but it's a nice tool to help motivation

I thought she got it for him because he didn't have one

I had one of the original ones that got recalled because the battery area leaked nickel. I got a nasty skin rash on the top of my wrist. Thankfully, they gave me a full refund from the recall.

The fact that you remember that when I don't even remember that shows how much tilt you're on HTH

Although my memory isn't as good as when I was a kid, I still remember almost everything I read. I always have.

You, on the other hand, tell so many lies and talk so much sh!t, you can't even remember your own comments.

Also, you have a pea brain.

I used to have one. My family and a bunch of my friends were on competitions. It got a bit competitive. Like people going to the gym at 11:00 pm just to grind out the steps to win.

Between that and myfitnesspal App (helps keep track of calories) I lost quite a bit of weight. Can't use it here though as I rarely know what is in my food.

I have an Apple Watch now. It's fitness tracking capabilities are as good or better, and it also has other functions.

Old people and women are the only people I know that need a reminder to get off your azz.

I found it, as well as the calorie counting app, useful to quantify things. Actually see on a graph what your current choices look like, and what it takes to be in a calorie deficit.

Plus which, as you lose weight, the numbers change. Requires more exercise to burn the same calories.

I liked it as a teaching tool. Not really necessary as a daily thing.

20,910 steps today. Day 2 of the move into our new house. Fock boys are my dogs barking. Feels like I walked around all day at disney. Laying here feeling my heartbeat in my feet.
