I don't care about anything that ESPN does. Since Disney bought ABC and along with it ESPN, ESPN has become nothing more than a self-promoting, self-serving bunch of arrogant talking heads. They mostly get in the way of good sports. They want desperately to create their own buzz vocabulary that becomes the norm. QBR is just the latest in their attempt to control everything that is sports. BTW, I love Dan Patrick, but I have often heard him call ESPN the mother-ship. Not true! Disney, the world's most self promoting company, is the mother-ship. They're all pretty useless at the network, IMHO.

Been a commissioner for over 25 years and I've never vetoed a trade. Never had to because I only would veto due to collusion and I know my guys. I think there are several problems here. 1. By your own admission the guy is a crappy low life. Your fault for allowing him in the league. I know sometimes you can get desperate to fill a league, but that's no reason to bring someone on that you know isn't going to work. 2. If you are going to have veto voting 1 day isn't enough. It should be 2 or 3 because no matter what you think, everyone isn't on your league site daily. No one has the time to check in everyday. I see leagues that say must be active and check league multiple times a day and I just chuckle. I'm on everyday because I'm the commissioner and I keep track of things. My guys aren't and I don't expect them to be. 3. Since you were aware of this situation you should have e-mailed the league and asked them to log on and check out the trade. 4. As I see it, you don't have any good options. You can overrule the trade and risk the ire of the involved owners. You can lock the guy from making any more trades and tick him off. You can ask the owners if they could even out the trade some (he did say he'd throw in Bradford). You can boot him from the league and try to find a suitable replacement. You can change the veto process and the only person who can veto trades is you which is what I do. Good luck with this situation, but all of this should be talked about before the season begins.

I'm sure you're going to have someone tell you you're on the wrong board, but here's my quick opinion. Drafting to trade later doesn't work as often as you might think. It depends on the league. Some owners will just tell you to suffer with the picks. Good luck with that one.

Mendenhall in a heartbeat. Both get lots of garbage time yards and TDs however Mendenhall is used more in the passing game anymore where Turner is non-existent in the passing game. But the big thing is age. Mendenhall has carried the ball a lot but he's much younger than Turner.

I run a non-money league with friends and family and our outcome was affected because we give a 3 point bonus for 100 yards. Very high scoring league. My problem is the correction wasn't made before the Thursday night game which sort of is like not changing a play after the next one has been run. It doesn't affect me because I won my game and was in the finals. I may just throw caution to the wind and have the final 4 teams play this weekend in a high score battle. I don't have it and I don't really care. If the NFL wants to put their Thursday night package there instead of regular tv that's their decision. It is obviously about money and not the fans. I love fantasy ball, but I'm not paying extra for these games. I'll follow online.

Trades are not about winning or losing. There about helping both teams. That said, I like the Best/Stafford/Lynch trade because I absolutely can't stand Brett Favre. Stafford has great potential, Lynch is steady and Best will be something special.

Don't even think about making that trade, never... DeAngelo is a time share and Rice many never be right after hip surgery... Let me repeat...never.

I think it's Yahoo hands down for a free league. With ESPN you have to deal with the crap that goes along with ESPN. Also, on free ESPN QBs default to 4 pts for a td and they have double rounds in the playoffs.

I can only assume you are making some reference to Penny Lane of Beatles fame. As far as the logo, not a fan. But each to his own tastes...

I'm in 3 leagues on RTS, Real Time Sports. Been on it for several years and it is far better than ESPN, CBS and the like. I'm also in one league on MFL. That's a pretty dynamic site. IMO for all the trash it gets, Yahoo is not a bad site on which to have a league. I think it's very user friendly and have used the site on and off for many years.

I chartered my first league in 1984. Did everything by hand. USA Today was our paper of record and I went into the office at 6:00 am every Monday to do the scores by hand. 10 team league. I liked higher scoring games even back then. BTW, the league still operates and is celebrating 25 years. Only a handful of charter guys still in it. They still do a live, off-line 2 and a half hour lunch draft. I think the biggest thing now that disgusts me is that owners don't have to study because all the friggin' draft boards list the players in order and some guys just go right down the list. Still, I could have never played in 9 leagues like I do now. So much effort to keep the leagues going. I used to love it when guys had no clue who players were. Who's so and so? Is this guy any good? Those were the days.....
