City Island used to be a real good spot. Used to hit up orchard beach and some of the restaurants. Its since changed a lot, boom boxes blasting salsa music, etc. Restaurants are more or less hit or miss, still good seafood thou.

City of Angels

I'll admit that when Meg died, I kinda cried.

I still loath Cage as an actor, tho

Zactly. Have to go early in the evening mid-week. Otherwise it's third world, but it still has its charms.

I may have to grab a canoe and float my ass your way one day. Have a nephew who did it in 49 days. Headwaters to just south of NO. Hard to get out on the delta.

Have read about guys who have done this. I respect the Hell out of them. I live half a mile from the river just past the GreaterNewOrlens bridge. I've seen sh!t in that water and currents that are scary as fawk. The mighty Mississippi is nothing to fawk with. I also used to drink Dixie beer, which is where they got the water from. Never drink the last ounce. That sediment that got through is from fawking Yankees using the river as their toilet. It all drains south.

I was educated/trained in five different places (PA, two in GA, NC, MI), but basically spent the first half of my life in Atlanta and the last 14 years in HI.

I remember when I took the job in Phoenix after graduation, part of me was like Phoenix, really, I'm going to live there? And people said don't worry, you'll live lots of places. But 28 years later I'm still here and liking it. Met a girl, got married, had kids, and job never made either of us move (one of the benefits of sales vs. management IMO). Maybe it is that I come from a blue collar, lower middle class upbringing where nobody moved; I don't feel the desire to go live somewhere else. :dunno:

I don't know anyone who likes moving. But I'm lucky to live in such a wonderful place. I was ecstatic to leave PA and MI, and I lived in one of the nicer areas in the latter (Ann Arbor).

I fully believe Michigan is the best state in the nation to live in.

State College, right? If I remember there wasn't enough diversification for your liking.

I moved here from Bozeman, MT, where i was a skibum.

Previously I have lived in:

Boise, Idaho

Bismark, ND

Stanton, ND

Riverdale, ND

Madison, WV

Sheridan, WY

Gillette, WY

Cody, WY

Basin, WY

I have spent considerably time working in:

Bakersfield, CA

Watford City, ND

Deadhorse, Alaska

Is Bozeman a pretty sweet little city? I was talking with friends who have spent time out west hopping around and this city came up as a great place.

You're out of your mind. Terrible weather and outdoor activity options (no ocean or real mountains). Not into culture or sports, but those are pretty mediocre as well. I guess it has a reasonable cost of living, but so do a lot of other sh!tty states.

Educate me why MI is best.
