Ryan Clady Tears ACL

Recommended Posts

Yikes......downgrade Manning some more.

Denver Broncos OT Ryan Clady (knee) tore the left anterior cruciate ligament in his knee during practice Wednesday, May 27, and he is likely to miss all of the 2015 season, according to a league source.

A crushing blow to the Broncos here. Clady is an All-Pro left tackle in charge of protecting Peyton Manning's blind side. Now, the team is going to turn to rookie Ty Sambrailo in that position. The Broncos are going to have a more balanced offense this year, so dial back expectations for Manning and the passing game compared to what we've seen over the last three years in Denver.

Running game anyone?

No Orlando Franklin, no Ryan Clady or Manny Ramirez in the trade to get Shane Ray.

This offense can't function at a high level without protection fellas. Not saying stay away from but a downgrade is inevitable.

I am liking the running game better day by day. We know what Kubiak wants to do....and can do. Peyton has worn down in the post-season, costing them games, and now has lost his left tackle. However, with the threat that Manning, Thomas, and Sanders present, defenses must remain somewhat honest. I will own CJ Anderson this year.

I agree with you. My question is who has previously been a part of the ZBS scheme that Kubiak runs? Between montee ball and Anderson did either run behind a ZBS in college? That'll be who wins this battle and who ultimately should be chosen. Anderson is a keeper in my league so I'll take a flyer on Ball in the 9-10 rd area unless the preseason hype train starts rolling on him

Denver Broncos RB Montee Ball and C.J. Anderson are splitting first-team repetitions during organized team activities.

Anderson's the starter at this point, and it's his job to lose. Ball is finally healthy after a groin injury cut his 2014 season short. Unless Anderson fumbles the job away or gets hurt, we can't see Ball overtaking him for the starting job. At practice on Wednesday, Ball looked odd in the zone-blocking system while Anderson looked like a natural. The lead back in Denver (under new head coach Gary Kubiak) is going to be a RB1 for fantasy owners.

Anderson stock on my list has dropped some because it does sound like both will get a lot of work .

I also have to drop Anderson down my board due to the losses on the OL, losing J Thomas, and the reports of major changes to the offense like Manning playing more under center. I know a lot of people will see the under center thing as a positive but the RB in the offense benefits from the offense's explosiveness.

I agree with the reduced value assessment but still see CJ as a potential top 5 back. Moving Sanders to the slot suggests he could see Welker level targets as long as he is healthy.

The rb who pass protects the best is the front runner IMO

Oline problems are a big concern but sounds like Ball might be more involved than I thought. having a hard time dropping him down under the top ten ,

Any examples of a slot receiver seeing major targets in the Kubiak offense? Hopefully the reports of Manning spending so much time under center is just to get him back into practice and more of an experiment. We will only know more once the preseason arrives.

If we had a different qb I'd agree w you. I expect Kubiak is going to have to be a little more flexible with Manning.

I don't see Ball as a threat to CJ. He dances in the backfield too much and defnitely isn't a one cut runner, which is what Kubiak prefers. I see CJ getting 80% of the carries on this squad and being a complete workhorse back. I was high on Ball last year, but he moves his feet so much without going anywhere.....

Clady isn't a huge loss in my opinion. I know he's a stud in Madden, but did you all watch him play when he returned last season? He looked flat out bad. No better than an average LT at that point and he wasn't a factor in the run game.

The only prediction I'll make on CJ for the year, at this time, is he will handle the carries. It's his team now. Peyton may be killed behind that line, but Kubiak has always done well implementing his scheme and his RB's have always been a one workhorse backfield. He isn't going to change his mentality in Denver. Manning has came out and publicly supported CJ as the starter and rotoworld had something on CJ just last week stating he was the only starter, going as far as saying Ball may not even with the backup role. He's just not in favor in Denver.
