scottsind 61 Posted August 15, 2017 Wondering thoughts on Mixon this year? I have two keepers in a 12 man league: Odell and Evans. So we start the draft basically in the 3rd round, but I will call it our 1st.Thinking about going Mixon with my first pick, but do not have a next round pick as I traded it to obtain Evans. I cannot miss on that first pick and Mixon is a risky pick with two rbs possibly taking away his thunder.Would Crowell by a better pick in the first as he is safer?Or would it be prudent to take another WR like Baldwin, Pryor or a Keenan Allen? If I went this route I would have to pick a bunch of middle round running backs and hope one hits.Let me know your thoughts as I threw a lot out there and could be a tricky question to answer.Thank you! Ray_T 587 Posted August 16, 2017 Crowell and Mixon are interchangeable. I think both have risks and upside, but in the end I think Mixon's got a bit more upside and a bit more risk. If you want safe, Crowell will be steady, but unspectacular. He's a high end RB2 or a low end RB1 depending on who you talk to. Mixon's the better talent, but he has 2 RB's who are ahead of him in the pecking order and who will poach carries from him if he does become the starter. going on the assumption he does become the starter, I think he loses some passing downs to Gio and red zone carries to Hill. Leaving him a risky low to mid range RB2. What makes this kid worth your while is that he may be a keeper for years to come. So there is the potential benefit in future years. Keenan Allen is risky due to his risk of injury. He's only played about 8 or 9 games over the last 2 years. If you want a safe pick, he's not your guy. Also, you have 2 WR already, why take a risk on a third who is injury prone? I think you need a RB. Personally, I think you need to swing for the fences. Playing it safe rarely wins you a championship. And the player with the best upside is Mixon. And I think the risk level is acceptable given the possible upside.
