Filthy Fernadez 2,696 Posted October 10, 2018 Looks like he just snuck up on people. All of a sudden, we get a Category 4? Media hyped Hurricane Florence then it petered out (still flooded but not CAT 4). That's the problem with the reporting of this crap.

seafoam1 1,879 Posted October 10, 2018 This is the one that's sort of sneaking up on people. Cat 4 hitting land. Going to be really bad. I don't think it is sneaking up as much as it's expected direct hit is not a major city, so a lot of people don't care as much because it's not as "newsy". If this were on New Orleans, every eye in the country would be on this. If it keeps on rainin' levee's goin' to break If it keeps on rainin' levee's goin' to break When the levee breaks I'll have no place to stay
dain11279 928 Posted October 10, 2018 Gonna be insane but moving through quicker. Florence wasn't as bad as this one but moved like a snail so the misery lasted longer

Funny story and related to this, did you know up until the late 70s hurricanes were only named after women, until feminist said that men can be chaotic and unpredictable too... something along those lines. I'm use to hearing about this awful hurricane then checking in day after day. This is a really big one this time! Did it make landfall yet? Nope. Nope again. Usually takes a week. Slow focking hurricanes. With Michael it was "oh there it is" and Boom! Landfall! the next day. We're not use to that.

Let them win this one. One thing black people are really good at is coming up with names. If you want people to get the fock out, Katrina and Michael and Irma are kind of meh and won't work so well as telling people that Hurricane Tyrone is coming straight at them.
