Disturbed Sounds of Silence better than S&G

Johnny Cash and NIN -Dirt, man thats the hardest cover to decide on, I lean Johnny Cash

prob in minority, but Limp Biskit, Behind Blue Eyes, was better than The Who version

Shinedown Simple Man, very close, but better than Skynard, which is sacrilege

I believe you mean Hurt, not Dirt. I love both, but I saw NIN perform it live, my favorite song I have ever heard live.

Behind Blue Eyes is one of the all time greats. Have to side with The Who.

Agree on Sound of Silence

Agree on Simple Man

Jesus...another Disturbed cover that people are gonna shiot themselves over? That cover of Sound of Silence was crap. Because a band covers a song by legendary artists doesn't make it good. Van Halen covered some Motown tunes on Diver Down and it was some of the worst crap they ever put on a record.

Always the original

The ONLY one I can break that notion with is All Along The Watchtower. Dylan even prefers Jimi's version over his.

LOL. Yah, let's compare arguably the most powerful voice in the last 20 years, to some crappy cover band that blows absolute balls. Just fock off already, SUX.

Another example -

Voodoo Chile / Child by Jimmi (original)

Voodoo Chile / Child by SRV (cover)

There are some kick ass versions by the KWS band out there too... Not sure if common knowledge but his drummer was a founding member of double trouble

I get it opinions aren't allowed by the left

I grew up listening to the Who, Zepp, PF, Skynard, all that stuff, I can recognize a good cover when I hear it. If I hear something I like I can't help it, if it sounds good thats what matters to me

Chris Cornell made Billy Jean listenable as well

With a Little Help From My Friends gets the cover nod from me also.

My favorite cover growing up was Manfred Mann's Blinded by the Light vs. Springsteen's.

Also I love that SRV cover of Voodoo Chile but...Jimi is Jimi.
