Recommended Posts

Yep. My one team that made it's league playoffs is in deep RB trouble, so mostly because I am probably starting him tomorrow ...

Yeah, I'm not that excited either. But it's better than Damien Williams. PPR.

Latavius Murray and Darren Sproles are my starting RBS the first week of the playoffs (I know, early, weird system, I have Leveon Bell and Martavis Bryant on a bye). God help me.

I knew that the Bradshaw owner would outbid me on Boom. Murray, is my only hope.

What? Not even an awe-inspiring college video highlight clip.....with some good gangsta rap music in the background?

I will admit it. I am only in this thread to listen to "I need a hero". I am a child of the 80's. What can I say?

Well, that's OK. That doesn't make you gay or anything. Right?

That would certainly shock my wife. Her response might be "well then, why the heck were you ruining my Sundays by watching football all day and obsessing over that fantasy football crap?"

It's OK if you are gay. You can admit it. Nobody cares anymore.

He kinda reminds me of Leveon Bell. Patient, upright style, good vision, soft hands. Should be a good back in the NFL if they can develop him.

Now that's more like it!

Here's what I see:

-Kid is patient letting blocks develop. Not a dancer in the hole, but allowing blocks to develop and then sliding right through....reminds me of Arian Foster in this regard.

-Once he gets into the open, his stride reminds me of a racehorse. Not the fastest racehorse, but the smoothest.

-Most importantly, he is a mudder! (3:20)

Yeah, I don't see much race horse in him. Patience he has, speed not so much. Almost like he's got a little Earl Campbell in him. Little bit of a lumbering gait, but has great vision. Smart kid, it seems.

I said the fluidity & smoothness of his stride reminded me of a racehorse.....just not a fast one.

In other news, I never realized just how damn long that song was.

Sure, change th subject. Denial aint just a river in Egypt honey.

Right, there's like a gallop to his stride, I see what you are saying.

Not a huge fan of OAK schedule down the stretch

Yeah, in my case my RBs are: Leveon Bell (bye) then I have Ball and Hillman. Still holding. So Sproles was my 3 and becomes my default 1 and then I have:

Joeseph Randle (garbage time ponts maybe? The Gnats suck.)

Damien Williams (PPR so, if he can get a couple catches and some decent yards like 4/50, that's 9 points)

And ... Murray. Not a hard choice. Rolling with Murray. Next week I get Bell back.

What's even more funny, is my backer suggested we draft "Remarco Demurray" and I made fun of him. "The Cowboys are gonna suck this year." I said. "He's never played a full season." I said. Across three teams, we did not draft him on my advice.

And now, first round of our league playoffs ... The one team that made it, we have Joe Randle, facing the Demarco Murray owner ... and I am starting Latavius Murray.

Gonna either come out of this looking like a genius or an idiot.

I got some Murray blood in me. It's Scottish for "Badass". They don't tell you the real history in Holywood movies like Braveheart, where Andrew Murray isn't even a character. Google him for yourself, he died at the battle of Sterling Bridge. Wait ... there was no bridge battle in Braveheart, you say? Exactly. They ran out of money, so they made up the whole field battle instead. Andrew Murray died from wounds he incurred in battle, William Wallace was captured, drawn and quartered, later. It has often been atributed to Murray for the strategy, the sheer will, to win that battle, even if it cost him his life. Which it did.

Murray though ... with a Scottish accent ... sounds a little bit different. Some of my Scottish ancestors, were brought here to America, to fight and kill the Indians. My ancestors killed an Indian chief named Bigfoot.

Murray, with a Scottish accent .... sounds like Munny.

ETA: I am sure that was not intentional, by Clint, to disguise the Murray name, as the Indian fighters in my family were named Poe. Related to Murrays, that are not famous "indian fighters". It shows some research in his part though, that the original Indian Fighters were Scottish. They killed women and children. Pretty much anything that walks or crawls ... I believe is the line.

I've used that line before in a poker tournament after busting like 5 players in a row.

"Any man don't wanna get killed ... better clear on out the back."

There's your random history lesson for the day, people fom Scotland were hired to kill native Americans, because they had dealt with centuries of much more advanced warfare, it was easy. You make a safe passage for settlers to come West. And then it's over. How many white people? "Like the stars."

Murray. What a name. I think it must be a sign. I hope he has the killer instinct.

If he does not break out, and I lose this week ... well ... let's just say ... I might have him put in prison for life, because I know people in the legal system.

Ya better run your ass off kid, because ...if ya don't make me look smart, yer going to prison. Pretty much no questions asked. I have that power. My sister is a family law attorney in California.

Just kidding. I feel it though ... i feel the breakout game this week, in PPR.

Can you feel it?

Can You Feel It by The Jacksons might work here...

My thoughts on Murray:

  • He's already had the best runs by any Oak back all year and he's hardly touched the ball.
  • Oakland wants to win A game. I bet they are plenty stressed about being 0-16 there. They will do what it takes to win a game and frankly I don't think they can win a game unless Murray turns into someone they can ride. They will give it a shot.
  • Sparano has a history of running the ball and doing it well. He wants to run.
  • No favorable matchups on the schedule.
  • The oline is awful.
  • Murray can catch the ball.
  • Jennings did just fine in this offense last year, they stink but a RB can produce.
  • He piled up 7+ points in just about 1.25 quarters play last week.
  • They will almost never, ever have a lead, but garbage time points are a real possibility, like Rivera.

I picked up Murray, but am starting Sankey over him this week. Something everybody should realize - the Chiefs haven't allowed even ONE rushing TD so far this year. Yes, streaks are broken every day, but this is not an ideal week for Murray to try to break out.

Rolling with him in a must win game (need to win the last 2 and have one other owner lose a game). Lacy is my other starter but I would rather take a chance on Murray than roll with Sims or my worst pick of the draft = Reggie Bush.

Crank up the Bonnie Tyler - giants fan has done it again.

GiantsFan has made some good calls, made a few bad ones also (I think Bryce Brown?). Anyway I like his threads and I think he has been right a fair percentage of the times.

Sporano is a tool. Thinks he's Jason Garrett and getting cute. Running game isn't established enough to play action on first down.

What an azzhole...

It's a counterfeit of the other thread on the board...

He even stole the Cmon Ride The Train video which was posted in that thread!
